This is SO TRUE! I recently discovered that it's difficult to even find a family doctor that will allow you to pay with cash. They insist on your having insurance.

I suspect that this is because they can bill the insurance company for services above and beyond what the real, or actual cost might be, but I may be wrong on that.

Any other suppositions about why something like this should be, please post them. :)

My son has one, he likes it, it has some capability to function similar to a netbook, not much in the way of supporting local applications, or games, it really depends on access to the internet via WIFI. Once you have that, it does make the most of the available entertainment choices. There are apps to support Netflix, YouTube, etc. They seem to be reliable and stable, and it is in a convenient device that allows you to be completely transportable in a way that is unmatched by other similar devices, and certainnly easier than high-powered laptops which are so much larger.

I like this policy. It makes for more and better competition. I've always been a fan of a single landgrab being just that, a landgrab, not an act of war or aggression. Simply a single landgrab, because you can, works for me. I have never had a problem suffering a retal strike because of a landgrab, it's kinda expected, however, I don't agree with L:L retals, that's just a bunch of hooey, if you can't take your land back with the same number of strikes, then perhaps you had too much land to start with and the guy who took it deserved it more.

I've noticed an uptick iu the number of idiots who landgrab countries with way less land than them early in the game thinking that they are accomplishing something. LOL

It's a function of the intelligence of the newer players, which apparently isn't as high as it used to be. :) LOL

Canada has higher immigration requirements than the US. Have you ever even looked at what those requirements are?

If you don't have a decent education, Canada doesn't want you.

If you don't have a significant source, or cache of cash, Canada doesn't want you, either.

Check your facts before you start comparing apples and oranges and lose your perspectives completely.

Immigration to the US is slow and the process is cumbersome, but it's still easier for an immigrant to meet the US requirements than it is for them to meet most other countries immigration rules.

Well said, Martian. SSD's are the only TRULY reliable hard drives as they have no moving parts.

Leaving the drive running continuously does seem to extend the life of the drive, but that's the same with all electrically driven devices. It's the initial surge of power when you first turn it on that does the most damage to the device.

Think about it, when does a lightbulb blow? When you turn it on, they usually don't just fail while operating.

I use Microsoft Security Essentials, a free download, and it keeps my system protected. LOL

Also, it pays to have a backup. It takes me about an hour to completely restore my system, that includs installing the OS and recoverning all my data.

One question... Have you ever been to France?

If you haven't, perhaps you should visit because it is VASTLY different than you are imagining.

It is the filthiest of the European Nations, nasty people live there who throw their trash out of the window of the second floor flat that they live in, then take themselves for a walk so they can relieve themselves like a dog. They don't even have the courtesy to bring a plastic baggie to properly dispose of their waste. The smell around Paris is just awful. For a similar smell you have to go deep underground in the US Subway systems in New York, Philadelphia, Boston, or Washington, DC.

It's amazing, I tell you.

And the arrogance of the general population is completely breathtaking. They just think that being French entitles them to every privilege and honor.

Oh, and to go along with mrford's statement, the thinnest book in the world is "French Military Victories".

Unless they count the victories of the Corsican Napoleon, they've never won any encounters.

In fact, they've made it illegal for EuroDisney to display fireworks because the local garrison's of the French Army continue to try to surrender to TinkerBell.

To those of you who have been around long enough to know him, I am sorry to bring this news to the forums, it's with great regret that I bring news of the passing of Santa Claws. :(

He was my friend, and an alliance mate for many years. His real name was Tim Toerber and I will miss him greatly.

For those of you who only know him from the game, his main country name was always, Santa's Village.

Wow, the list grows and some of the rants are quite good. It's hard to make things funny when you have so many morons and imbeciles out there just waiting their opporunity to fluff you up. I've noticed that a lot of people aren't thinking about driving when they're driving, they're thinking of what they are going to be doing when they get where they are going and are not focused on getting there instead.

Especially around the holidays, it gets crazy around the malls. My God, you might interfere with 5 seconds worth of shopping time, GET THE fluff OUT OF MY WAY!

I had a woman dodge between my rig and a dock for Sears once when I was delivering a load of goods to a Sears, and I KNOW that she could see that 53 foot billboard with those flashing lights and beeping beeper backing into that dock, yet she dodged between all the same and then went off on me for being so inconsiderate about MY driving. LOL

She was in a hurry to get to the sears to pick up a new microwave that was due to be there that day. fyi, it was on my truck at the time. LOL

I found this out when I went to the dock office to get my bill of lading signed off on when that same vicious fluff was fluffing at the warehousemen to give her the goddamned microwave before she did unspeakable things to their manager. LOL

I should have pulled out of the dock and let the fluff go home without it again. I was early for the delivery, so I could have just pulled out of the dock and sat in the parking lot for an hour and had dinner, or something while waiting for her to give up and leave. But, I didn't want the manager to have to suffer those unspeakable acts.

It's about time SOMEONE did something about this outrageous activity. I really do wish to go and retrieve my beer from the fridge without having the volume of the ad following me into the kitchen. I got up to go get the beer to avoid watching the ad, there is no reason that they should have the ability to shout it at me.

Damn the commercials, anyway. I usually don't want to buy their crap anyway, and the less I want to buy it, the louder the damned things are.

I can't wait for the US to do this.

I told IMP we will be no help, call in a stronger ally while we hold off police. You are the one who pulled out of a war which you would have won and gotten respect. I own up to my mistakes, not the fluff you pull. Every war SALT has declared on someone it has been a fair fight.

Hey, Papasmurf, I didn't come up here raising hell about SALT inexplicably attacking my first attempt at running multiple countries here on the FFA Server, but I came back this reset and am far better prepared to do something about it, but you guys are mostly dead, and not really worth going afater. :(

Maybe a future reset if I feel the need to keep on avenging myself. :)

As a former big rig driver, I have encountered a lot of morons on the roads of America.

The ones who used to really piss me off are the ones that drive on the highways in the Baltimore=Washington area.

For some reason, there is always some suicidal moron on the road when I was hauling a maxed out load of 47,000 pounds of Pepsi, or Campbells Soup, or something else that can max out your weight and they feel that the large space I would leave in front of my truck and the vehicle ahead of me was there for their convenience rather than safety. So, they would inevitably jump their car in there just to see who can cut the safety margin the thinnest and still live to tell about it.

I wonder if Maryland and Virginia Driver's find their licenses inside boxes of Post or Kellogg's Cereals?
