I hope that someone who devoted time and effort to this game/forum/community would be treated with some level of respect, but then again, this is the community we live in and some people just can't leave well enough alone.

Ah, now that's the real question, isn't it? Can we even vote for anyone not already tainted by the current corrupt system?

I would say it's impossible to be able to vote for someone who hasn't already been coopted by the current regime.

The current system operates on what the politicians like to refer to as "democracy", whereby they present to the public at large two candidates for a particular office, ( the primaries not withstanding in the count before someone freaks out about my omission of them).

Both candidates having been vetted by the two major political parties, (who are secretly the same political party who's main aim is to keep the population of the US as dumb as possible in order to maintain their hegemony over politics), these two candidates have been checked out and proven as loyal members of the political cadre that runs the government for their own benefit.

Both political parties will and do use the court system to keep third party candidates OFF the ballot, thus ensuring a continuation of the current regime.

The corporations that contribute to political campaigns and action committees directly influence the mind set of the congressman and senators that they have bought.

In order to properly correct the system, Congressmean and Senators need to be made affordable for the average person, not exclusively to the corporations.

I can't fault them for backing up an ally at all, nor would I disrespect Buds, I like her. But, the numbers of countries without a shred of defense speaks volumes to me about what they were preparing for all along.

It has nothing to do with "netting", or any other bullfluff like that, those countries were built for one purpose, and that was to be an assault force.

Anyone wish to argue that?

Grabbing is a fact of the game, You guys at NBK spend a great deal of time stressing over getting grabbed. It's something that happens, a single landgrab is NOT an act of War no matter how you try to paint it in.

If you can't hang with being landgrabbed, find another game where you can't landgrab. Otherwise, STFU about it.

I'm American and I don't care what your opinion of Americans is, plain and simple.

If you don't like Americans, Great, don't come here.

If you like Americans, Great, you can visit and enjoy something uniquely American, like a Philly Cheesesteak, or a Chicago Pizza, or some Cincinatti Chili, or North Carolina BBQ, or some Humboldt County Weed.

Or perhaps you will just visit to enjoy some warm weather and the beaches in Florida or Hawaii.

But, keep your opinions to yourself.

Those Iranians are crazy. They have some serious issues with their perception of exactly how powerful they actually are in the world.

If they ever get a hold of a nuke, they will use it, trust me on that. They have no restraint at all, none. In fact, if the US was actually going to invade a country this is the one they should have invaded, not Iraq.

Al Gore inventing the internet and claiming he did just because he was a member of the committee that funded the original project is ludicrous. We may as well credit Thomas Jefferson for his help in producing the internet, after all, he wrote the declaration of independence, which directly led to the creation of the government upon who's committee Al Gore was sitting.

Say what you will, Steve Jobs had vision, and he had the wherewithal to act upon that vision, which is saying he was a whole lot more ambitious, motivated, etc. than everyone else. Especially considering that most of us spend our time pontificating on pure bullfluff on these forums.

I don't think that there is even one of us who could even stand any kind of chance at developing an idea into a highly successful product like he has done.

So, if you really want to be critical of this fellow, I highly suggest that you carefully examine your own image in the mirror first.

Well, the immigrant population of Europe is outbreeding the average Euro-trash couple by a few. The population of most western nations are continuing to fall while the population of most Muslim countries is still climbing, especially after they immigrate to the west. Thus, they will be able to outvote, out riot and out produce western populations. So, despite the hype, this does have the ring of some truth to it.

IT TAKES A SAILOR TO SORT THINGS OUT!!!
The guys were all at a fishing camp. No one wanted to room with Cambell, because he snored so badly.

They decided it wasn't fair to make one of them stay with him the whole time, so they voted to take turns.

The first guy slept with Bob and comes to breakfast the next morning with his hair a mess and his eyes all bloodshot.

They said, 'Man, what happened to you?

He said, 'Bob snored so loudly, I just sat up and watched him all night. '

The next night it was a different guy's turn. In the morning, same thing - hair all standing up, eyes all bloodshot.

They said, 'Man, what happened to you? You look awful!'

He said, 'Man, that Bob shakes the roof with his snoring. I watched him all night.'

The third night was Pete's turn. Pete was a big burly ex-Navy man; a man's man. The next morning he came to breakfast bright eyed and bushy tailed. ‘Good morning,' he said.

They couldn't believe it! They said, 'Man, what happened?

He said, 'Well, we got ready for bed. I went and tucked Cambell into bed, patted him on the butt, and kissed him good night. Cambell sat up and watched me all night.'

Just to point this out. If you have enough money, you can be "self-insured" with your auto insurance. Large trucking companies do that so they do not have to pay an insurance company to handle it.

What they do is post a bond equal to the amounnt of coverage they are required to have, and earn interest on it, instead of paying that same money to an insurance company to acheive the same results.

Thus, the solution to most insurance woes is to have th emoney on hand to provide yourself with "self-insurance" and earn interest on the money that YOU still control.

Power to the PWOPLE.

Either way, sitting there waving some snarky sign at someone who could give a fluff less what you think isn't the answer to the problem.

Generally, I agree with your viewpoints, NOW3P, however, this time I would like you to cite some empirical evidence of the little guy making a difference with his single vote and effort to make changes.

I don't think anything but a major conflagration will be able to change the way our political machine works.

You're right though, idiot's standing around, waving stupid signs will not result in any change, especially when the powers that be couldn't care less about them, or their ideas. The only thing they are worried about is that the gravy train keep on going so they can continue to ride it.

Thus, if you really want to make a change, you have to do it old school and blow up the tracks that the gravy train runs on. THEN, you'll get attention.

It would be pointless to participate in thsee protests, unless they lead to an overreaction by the government that has overtones of the Boston Massacre.

No amount of protesting will sway the oligarchs that control Wall Street. The only solution for their greed, will be another Revolution to put things right again and get the big money out of the Government and return power to the people.

If you review history carefully, you'll notice that almost every advancement in human thinking, technology, culture, etc. all revolve around "WAR". If anything drives the human condition, it is war.

So, I would say the dates for the beginning and ending of wars of conquest, revenge etc. are the most important dates in history.

PHilanthropy is not the final measure of a man. If it were, most of us would be on the low end of the spectrum.

Steve Jobs did something for the human race that wouldn't have happened had everything been left up to corporate interests.

As someone else posted here, he gave us a lot in culture and technology.

Pixar being one good example of his interest in advancing technology and culture.

It's unfortunate that his legacy will be taken over by a combination of corporate interests and lawyers. :( They will never do anything with it other than leech from it until it's all gone. Producing nothing new and helping no one.
