As was true for TTM, Gonz was the first SOLer to really engage me when I started playing the game almost a decade and a half ago. His kindness and support for me as a new player was no small part of why I remained with SOL and only SOL for more than a decade and why even now, playing with a group of peace loving tree huggers, I often itch for that SOL tag by my name.

He made a massive impact on how I see the game, clans within the game and fun& good sport in competition. I will miss him and hope to be like him in how I welcome new players.

While I don't know that the woman isn't a bigot, I don't believe that refusing to participate in another person's way of life is the same as not tolerating it. Disagreeing doesn't force the person you disagree with to change their view/way of life/whatever. If, on the other hand, you are passing laws that force peoples' hands, asking for certain speech to be silenced, etc, THAT is refusing to tolerate. Disagreement and intolerance are used interchangeably these days but they are not interchangeable. I don't know that this person is doing a good job of her job (or that she isn't) but I do know that extremely few rants I read on the subject (and many subjects of late) are intellectually honest.

Anyone who doesn't agree with one side or the other is necessarily hateful? Why do the words "bigot" and "bigotry" automatically get pulled out when someone disagrees with someone else? THAT is by definition, bigotry.

Websters dictionary: bigotry - stubborn and complete intolerance of any creed, belief, or opinion that differs from one's own.

Remember when disagreeing was called disagreeing and the fact that you could disagree was called freedom and individual thought? Now we all have to fall lockstep with the vocal majority for fear of being branded as 'hateful'.

For the record, I don't care who marries and believe that ALL government issued privileges, considerations, etc handed to the married are unconstitutional. Marriage, like it or not, is inherently a religious rite. The First Amendment to the US Constitution states (in part) that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof" ergo tax policies and other law affecting or affected by religious rite should be struck down by the SCOTUS as their job is primarily to enforce the constitution in application of law. If we want true equality for all peoples, this is the way to have it and not have the debate tainted with quests for financial gain cloaked in the 'pursuit of love'......

Who could argue against such wizened and scholarly instruction? And if even the good Friar attributes that frothy perfection we call beer to the greatness of God, how could we then conclude anything but that our beer not only ascends to heaven, but likely gets in ahead of us in line. Of course, that's just, like, my opinion, man.

Lemme see if I understand the 'conventional' wisdom - I'm much larger than you; I LG you; you'd better be able to retal me within 72 hours AND be able to do it (for some arbitrary reason) with units other than jets only OR lie down and do nothing at all.
Interpretation: I feel entitled to take whatever I want from the countries below/smaller than me and, further, feel entitled to do so with no fear of repercussion. Sounds like a win win for the bigger guy and a big Phu Q to the smaller guy.

How about this instead: If you're preying on a smaller guy and little man happens to pack a wallop when he fires back, well....when you sow the wind, you reap the whirlwind. Dry them tears up and deal.

You are spot on, Ford. My wife and I have 6 children between us. We pull down the filthy rich salary of about $55k between us yet DO NOT qualify for a health care subsidy because the means test of "affordability" (when considering your employer sponsored coverage) only looks at the premium for the employee alone. It completely ignores the cost of insuring the children. In our case, it's about $100 per month for a cadillac plan for just my wife, but over $1600 per month for the plan one step down if we cover all of us. How on earth is $20,000 a year for health insurance affordable?
The FACT that no one wants to deal with is that we were promised by our fearless leader that this sweeping, choice stealing, tax inflating legislation would bring quality health care within reach of the working poor. All of everyone's bullfluff about free this and free that and Canada gives you a hand job with every check up and no one ever gets a stubbed toe in England.......none of it changes or provides adequate defense for the fact that we were straight lied to, stolen from and stripped of yet one more ounce of freedom. None of anyone's anti-whatever rhetoric will detract one ounce of truth from that point.

You don't like being censored; the solution: vote with your feet and walk out the door. Sites like this one make all of their money from ad revenue, the value of which is based solely on the traffic the site generates. When enough of you take a stand on your values (whatever they may be) and depart from the site, you devalue that ad space and the site's owner is forced to decide between making some concessions or failing as a business.

As for myself, I hate the censorship but love and respect the freedom of the individual property owner to enforce the values that he/she sees fit. If it becomes so egregious that I can no longer abide, perhaps I will launch a site with different terms of use. Until then, I have no call to cry foul.

This is not being a kiss ass, it's simply not being a hypocrite.
