Most alliances who want to net are pretty much pacted out. Some put 1 man tags on DNH in order to not provoke them. Running low def seems to be the way now and given how much damage 1 tyr with 126 turns, max milstrat and 5mil jets can do a it seems the way to protect peaceful netting.

Its basically become a PvE game, with the only human interaction being via the market.

Last reset was different with a pre-arranged big server war. It was fun to be a part of.

70mil were all techers. MountainYeti's 60mil finish (new bot code) was a farmer.

Looks like Stony and MountainYeti have the highest nw's since the new bot code and from what I can see they are the only ones to break 60mil NW.

If you look at ebert's grabbing when he got 83mil and 76mil nw he was pretty much doing 5 x ps every 2 hours apart from between 2-6am gametime when I assume he was sleeping or trying to sleep. Significant market manipulation is needed to get that high, and even with SO's that takes time to login, check, reset etc.

When Gerdler got 80mil nw his grabbing approach was different to ebert's and it looks like he got a good night's sleep. Personal opinions aside he is one of the best netters out there and certainly knows how to manipulate the market.

The bots are not the problem, the problem is how they are implemented. also when the bots actually work with the current up to date code indies can compete with techers, and casher has been improved by it.

So the one time I *might* win it doesn't count... 'bout right.

The DPA requirements of bots were increased in the newest version of the code. That means in older versions of the code the bots purchased more tech. Gerdler is probably playing Tyr -> Demo Techer with a switch to Demo around 100-110k..... dropping nw quit a bit before switching to minimise nw losses of the switch itself.

#29 got hit by the random missile suicider (#35) and was provoking other players with RoRs.

#29 double RoR'd #56 and stupidly #56 ABd him leaving #29 to possibly abuse DR. When #29 RoRd #8 he got killed.

#9 looked it was trying to cherry pick the kill - 2nd time that country did it.

The people that destroyed, apart from #9 were hit by #29 first.

Its a balance..... reduce the restart bonus and the FS becomes even more powerful, early reset wars are basically a yawn-fest and there is less chance of an alliance coming back to level and possibly win a war from being behind. Leave the restart bonus as is and a player can quietly build a 15k techer in a 1 man tag, stock for 3 weeks, farm an alliance and have enough stock, land and tech to be killed to at least the 3rd or 4th country before the amount of damage done is significantly reduced. Should this person target a small netting alliance their reset is completely screwed. This in itself shows how absurd the restart bonus is.

Warriors like the bonus as it makes wars more interesting. Netters think it is overpowered as a single suicider can do significant damage even after being killed two or 3 times.

This is mainly based on Alliance but may have benefits for other servers.

Currently the most efficient stock/destock is an oil destock. If we were to bump up the priv market bonus to 1-1.5% it would provide a realistic option for an alternate destock.

TLDR;

Culture needs to improve to improve player base. No single player is responsible, and certainly not Marshal IMO.

Nydhog - many players are way too attached to their country and forget that this is indeed a game where warfare is a mechanic.

In all honesty Express is one of the few consistently modded servers. Gal and Prime dont always get it right in our eyes (Ive been critical of Gal's decisions before) and they dont have the most advanced tools but on a whole they get it right far more than getting it wrong or miss something.

That last statement is somewhat incorrect. Gains are not based on attacker's land. It is only NW based.

Max gains are gained when the defender is 95-100% of your nw.

Nydhog - it is generally not worth grabbing a human player if you are playing to netgain. On express it is virtually impossible outrun a retal.

Grabbing humans to deliberately be annoying can be fun.
