Its probably a bit late to be posting this, since MD is gone, but I'm going to post in anyway in case anyway around reads it.
Firstly, as far as the justification that everyone knew this was coming was bullfluff, I knew nothing of it, and LCN was basically blindsided. And as has been pointed out innumerable times, declaring war on the server and then not hitting every alliance in the server was stupid. I was also slightly frustrated that other alliances who were not hit in the FS didn't get hit you guys after the dec and instead waited to be pummeled themselves. MD meant nothing to me before, and still means nothing to me.
But....
The main reason I'm writing this is to counter some of the vitriol against MD (as justified as I think it may be). Because I seriously want to thank you for the war, I had an absolute blast killing you guys, and I made so many friends, whom without the war, I would have never met.
You didn't kill me in the FS (I was the nuke target), which I thought was lucky considering I suck at netting and enjoy war, and was easily the most active of the clan at that moment. I was killed soon after though. But my second country stayed alive for a long time somehow considering I broke, or helped break almost every top kill we got. And I loved smashing those countries so much, breaking a 20mil+ country with a little restart is so satisfying. So after 1000+ hits, and 6 kills over 3 countries, I can say it was a good war.
But none if it would have been possible without phenomenal war chat leaders, especially Ignition and llaar (llaars target selection was second to none), you guys fluffing rock.
It also wouldn't have been possible without Derrick relaying targets to numerous warchats, it was a pleasure doing war with you.
Also a shout out to all the people who I shared kill runs with, and for the good banter, Gerd, Treemaker, cyref, syco, hash, relax, superfly, redneck, havoc, flameo, henrick... the list goes on.
So basically this is a thank you post. To MD for creating a war that brought so many people together. And for the people I met for making it such a fun war to be in. I actually feel sorry for SoL for being left out, since war was what all the cool kids were doing (and netting is definitely not their strong point lol).
My only disappointment was MD catching me on 2 of the rare occasions I was at work and couldn't wall. I wanted to wall soo bad, so fluff you for not letting me.
