That's what I get for not reading the different rules for different servers.

It was all part of an evil plot to FS Monsters!... those guys are up to something fishy sitting around all peaceful like, like butterflies.

And if I learned nothing else from Simpsons, I learned no one suspects the butterfly but they usually are up to mischief.

haha Mags, ya... good ol' HAN :)

They wrote better english than most north americans when they "wanted to" and on the flip side would "not understand" when ever they got in trouble.

As for 2025, they seem like great guys. English isn't a strong suite and likely they're running things through a translator program for help. But my dealings with them have been great so far. Sometimes you just have to phrase stuff a few different ways before it makes sense for them, but they seem like a great bunch.

It was a private market bug that he used. A variation of of abusing the $2bil limit.

That quick selling bug wasn't really useful. Mehul "fixed" it rather quicky by doing a blanket fix of wiping out identical sell lots if listed at same price.

It's why later on people wouldn't store common round amounts of food since they could disapear.

Ie: storing 100,000,000 bushels for 300. so many people would do it they'd all lose the bushels. and the bushels would just be deleted.

So it started being common for people to instead sell 100,004,219 type amounts.

I agree with Enshula on the refund the bonus points rather than crediting One bonus point and giving them 1.3 instead of 2.5.

It's fun seeing them in big groups..

ie: I remember Monks, and off the top of my head we had.

ACCI, Ronnie, Chump, Ichitaka, Hao2, 7th, Beerman, Mob, Scarface, En4cer, Allman, Alan, Diety, Hanlong, MM, H4, Ozzite, SMz, Thingfish, Valmont, Mist, Marty, Castejon, and a bunch others I'm forgetting.

SL/Genesis were much the same.. and then there's LaF that's been constant for the last 13 years.

I'm guessing so, I had a few breaks of a year + during that time, that's likely when you were kicking everyone, plus when I played I always hid under a random alias :)

As pointed out earlier it's hard to compare time frames as playing style has changed along with many other things.

Now the game is more suited to those that can follow a destocking formula and hit the tech button the most. Or who has the most time they can have internet access to get some grabs just after Country X leaves DR.

Also current players don't have to worry about the multies and suiciders in the same extent.

Hell, in my first 3 years playing I only had one reset I wasn't killed by multies (excluding 3 resets I war'd)

From about 98-2006 you would know before the reset started who your competition was. There were the same few from each alliance every reset. A few times buyouts or crazy multying would knock ppl down a few ranks but it was always the same crowd for most of a decade. Quite often these players would have to hide under false aliases just to finnish a reset without getting killed just for playing.

after that time it looks like H4, Hanlong, and a few others dominated things for the next 4 years.

without increasing hits needed, the time taken to do the kills is only slightly changed.

If killing becomes less effecient then its less likely to happen.
If required hits were to double or triple then war strats would no longer be a straight GS/BR nature to kill everything.

This game functioned pretty well when population kills were impossible. The wars back then were pretty interesting, much longer, and individual performance could make a largeg difference. It was possible for a smaller alliance to win if they were more organized.

However, rather than removing them, a medium could be found that not only allows for quick hitting and turn taking, but allows opportunity for the majority of players to stonewall or use tools at thier disposal to offput attacks.

slowing attacks won't make much of a difference, instead of it taking being unable to be online for 2minutes it becomes 10minutes. Really in the grand scheme of things that's barely anything in the day. And instead it would just frustrate casual players that only play as Helmet said 5-10minutes a day.

The 'no hitting alliances at war' thing won't work as it's easy to abuse to prevent suiciders by just declaring war on an ally :)

but the rest of it looks kind of fun.

But in general, I still feel 180-200 hits is too few for a kill. If the count was say, 500-600 hits per kill, it would change the strategies used for war, increase use of AB's and could create some interesting scrums.

I agree. In general I believe the hits/kill rate needs to change.

Basically the way it stands now, you can have a person spend 2 months on a country only to have it killed in 2 minutes by 4 people.

If we're wanting to start bringing more people into the game I feel as though changing that would help player retention greatly. It would also allow war strats to change

just a thought.

Conn Smythe to Thomas (short of him taking the puck and throwing it in his own net to make Boston lose next game, he deserves it)

Winner I'm tottering the fence...

If either of the Sedin twins score, I'll say Canucks win.
If they don't, I'll say Boston wins.

games 1 and 2 could have gone either way, much the same with game 5.

Scoring this series is now 19-8 in favor of Boston. It's just pretty amazing considering they were shut-out twice.

I feel bad for Savard sitting in the post box, he's been a player I've cheered for for years and I don't think he even gets to have his name on the cup since he won't have laced up at all for the post season :(

Mr.Silver

It's amazing how Canucks are leading this series and that it's even going to seven games.

Bruins 0 Canucks 1
Bruins 2 Canucks 3
Bruins 8 Canucks 1
Bruins 4 Canucks 0
Bruins 0 Canucks 1
Bruins 4 Canucks 0 (only halfway through 1st)

Total Goals...
Boston- 18
Vancouver- 6

If the Canucks do win, I can't think of any series I've ever seen where one side has so been so blatantly out played and out scored and still won.

I've harrassed Fingolfin a few times about coming back but his wife is only allowing him one game at a time right now heh.

Glad too that you guys started playing earth more than the MUD. going up a few times left a few times only to run into a 'naked man' was always a little disturbing :)

This year basically setup perfectly for the Canucks. I'll be happy if a Canadian Team wins it, I'll also be happy if Thomas wins a cup.

Boston's had its own injury problems, Savard currently, and Bergeron usually. I liked them alot more back when Neely played. He owned in NHL 92!
