My only problem with people who want to use NW to judge a war instead of kills, is that it's possible to win a war by NOT warring, but rather by netting until you're too big to be broken, and that's not right either.

It's true though... It's sad when there aren't enough good clans to even have enemies to war, and having to war allies just to get a fight.

Two things...

First, I have been an FFAer almost exclusiely as long ad I've played this game, and I don't quite get the debate. Does it really matter whether you want to look at a war using NW or HpK or Total Kills...or anything else? To my mind, if one clan has more NW and another has a better kill count at the end of a war... Good for you both. Seems like you both fought a decent battle... And if both clans want to claim victory for themselves, so much the better. I, personally, am okay with that. Brag and haggle about it all you want on FFAT... That's part of the fun too. It doesn't matter what specific statistic you use to judge the outcome of a war.

Hell, of the very first wars that I ever fought in this game... so long ago that I don't even remember what clan it was that we fought. It was a much larger clan than UNITED, though, so disproportionate that they were largely ridiculed for declaring on us. Anyway, there were only 6 or maybe 7 active members in the clan, and at least a few of us were real green, but we fought as best we could. By the end of the set, I don't even know if we were ahead in any one of those stats that was mentioned... But we claimed victory anyway on nothing more than the moral high ground... And that was just fine with me, and I gather with most of the server.

Second, What have you guys got against long posts? I used to be famous for my long rants. :P

Agreed... I only wish I knew before there was a war.

Give them a few hours to orchestrate a response... but if that's it... that's pretty disgraceful, isn't it?

Just... at least have a little pride and put up a fight.

It really astounds me, though. When I was a clan leader... any member who didn't have the honour to stand up for his/her clan mates when the need came... I would never have allowed them to show the tag on their countries again. Thankfully, that wasn't a situation that I ever had to deal with.

This is the most nonsense I've heard all day... and I went to work today!

You can think that it's whatever kind of server that you want... but it's a war GAME.

Like Mars said, you think you're netting and that's fun...

Then some fluff happens and you get FS'ed... now you're at war... and that's fun too.

So enjoy it!

Seriously, whether you were prepared for it or not, is not at issue. War is what happens sometimes... and when it does there's no such things as netters and killers in your clan... there are only warriors. When war hit you, you don't whine about it, and jump the tag. You suck it up, and fight. You might even be fighting against insurmountable odds... but you do it with your head held high, and you take as many of them with you as you can. You fight as a clan... proudly.

...at least that's how we did it in the old days in UNITED and UP.

I haven't played a farmer in so long that I've forgotten what it was like. That was the first strat I learned though.

Agreed that self-farming should at least be elliminated from stats. I think self-farming countries should be deleted, actually. Obviously there are mistakes, and reps that have to be allowed, but regularly self-farming is wrong, in my opinion.

The reason I came back to the game a few days ago was because I realized that I could play countries on my way to work on my iPhone!

I dunno about going on a kill run with it... But I used to war on a 14.4bps connection back in the day. I can't imagine this being any more challenging.

Nevertheless... this is kinda awesome... it's like a comic book when the REAL hero returns after being imprisoned on an alien planet for 25 years, and finds out that somebody else has been portraying him as a superhero.

It's happened to pretty much every Marvel hero now, as I understand it...

I only played 1 set of ES... the very first one. I won it actually. I was 3rd, I think... but the top two were WAY ahead of me. Then ICey and whoever else it was that was above me killed eachother off for the hell of it.

And the irony is that I once asked a few players if I could get a bot, or if they knew where I could get one... because my clan just wasn't large enough anymore... nobody knew anything about where to get one and had never used one. ;)
