Got my best finish so far so happy with that. Forgot to buy GDI before grabbing so spent the set carrying more spies and tanks than I would otherwise have, to fend off would be suiciders but strangley didn't get a single attack or failed spy op throughout the set, just a couple of missiles right near the end.

Gains should be based on 2 factors, acreage of target and attack force sent minus defence so say you send twice as many jets as needed to break defence then you get extra gains. That should sort it all out. Smaller nw counties could then still grab bigger ones but should be unable to muster enough jets for a really big grab unless the bigger nw target had a really inadequate defence

The failed spy op shows whether it was harmful or not, it just seems pointless to retal a non harmful op. All it says is that someone was potentially evaluating you as a target and decided against it. If someone retals my spy op I'll retal their retal - fun way to get into a fight with someone I guess - I could do with some of this in game C it's boring as hell in here.

Had a player declare war and launch a series of attacks as retal for a failed status spy op. They then set about trying to destroy my missiles but only got a few of then, I still had 22 chems and nukes left so launched them all and threw in as many harmful spy ops as I could. Anyway since when did people get so upset about a non harmful spy op?

I can't play against people with too much time on their hands, enough time to run 16 countries :) this game is the same as it was 20 years ago, people start something, get get upset at a little retal and then go crazy trying to take you down...still if that's what's fun to them who I am to complain

So started retalling as same multi hit me twice so I took the acres back off their top country and sent a missile their way for good measure. Probably a mistake but back to the top spot for now.

The last 4 or 5 land grabs I've done I'm only get tiny acre gains like 30 - 40 acres, I'd be better off exploring this is off 5000-6000 acre countries doing planned strikes and sending overkill amounts of jets like hundreds of thousands - I should be getting 100s of acres a time? Is there a reason for this?
