TheBOMB has never been the aggressor. So whatever reasons anyone has to hit anyone, you started it. Maybe it was your member suiciding us and ragequitting. Maybe it was your members detagging and killing us. Or maybe it was looking too handsome in your grindr pic, Derrick.

As to the recent allegations of my blatant cheating. Every game has game testers. This is usually a paid position. I was providing this service for free while the new changes are being implemented. Some might hate me for it, but those are criticisms I will endure for the sake of all.

thousands of players vs bots was never the argument on my end.

Assume everyone is working on the same goals. Assume that your timeline is different than others.

If the goal is to get players to return and new players to start, pandering to us old salty dogs who have played through the dark ages might not be the best route. If I am being honest to myself here. I want it easy, and hard, and I want to win and I want you to lose, and above all I want it to be played by all 18 year old asian girls. So.....what can you do for me slag?

The goal is to get more players. The route it takes might differ from yours, but the finish line is the same.

I would think FFA could do without retalling bots and I agree with Derrick on this point. FFA is hard enough to play 16 countries on. But it would be nice for some of the other changes you are working on to be made. Like the destocking changes, govt/strategy changes, have them fully built, etc.

If we really want to dissect why the bots were put in, we know the answer. But the why of the decline in players is important. It didnt have to do with game mechanics and it started well before EE.

You can't possibly say that you have more fun now then you did when there was thousands of players.

This sounds awesome! Finally back to the way things were. I definitely hope that is how it works.

But that is not 2007 LaF bully (LaF got beat down often enough by warring alliances). That is just how the game was played. If you are a netting alliance, you have to be pretty good at diplomacy. If you are a warring alliance, you have to be prepared to get crushed by a coalition of netters who wont put up with it.

So I welcome that dynamic.

Remember when we all had to talk to each other and plan what we were going to do all throughout the set? Now we just talk at the beginning of the set and then again at the end when we are jerking each other off about how great we did on our own.......

Derrick, of all people. I feel like you have the brain type to see this is a new challenge. But you are focusing on the wrong thing in my opinion. I get it, nobody likes change when they have mastered aspects of the game. Initially it's a pain to figure it out again.

But now is a chance to create, understand, define, master, and DOMINATE at a whole new set of rules. I can think of a dozen effects that this small change will have and how I am going to personally exploit it (or at least try). This is back to the ways of old and I think its going to drive more interest. The people who still play probably don't do it for the game play, but the people that left probably left because of the game play.

I enjoy having 500k acres and 1m+ oil a turn in FFA, but I am excited to see how this is going to change how we play. Who knows what the next dominant strategy is going to be. I do know its not going to be a zero defense FFO that grinds its way to the most land in a safe tag.

I say well done, Slag. Shake it up. Improve it. Appreciate the inclusion and understanding what is happening. Gives me the warm and fuzzies.

Derrick - you know where to find me. I'd be interested in debating why this might be a cool thing vs. why you think its not going to be. A man can only drink lemonade every day for so long. Sometimes you just want a damn liter of cola.

If we are strictly talking cause and not prevention. That's a hard one.

We are a young country that was built on guns, freedom and democracy. We can be "compared" to other countries, but the fact is. We are unlike any country in history (this isn't a brag). So what may be a no brainer for Europe or Asia just isn't going to work here. Same with all issues we are dealing with. You get technology, population, and simplicities of life that have never happened to a young country like ours in a time like now.

I would think a behavioral investigation has been happening, but who knows if we can even trust an unbiased result. It is a social problem that is breeding social issues. Add to the fact that there are two camps and it is socially motivating to be a part of one of them. So you get pressures from both sides. Funding, political gains, scrutiny, publicly shamed, etc. It's a mess and even if we all believed it to be a single cause (I.E. its the guns fault - not enough or too many). I am not 100% sure if it will stop or decrease what is happening every year. Hopefully, either one would help. As a proud gun owner and supporter, I would go through more of a process or inconvenience if it meant it would prevent people losing their lives. What I won't do is go through more of a process or inconvenience for it to increase the number of incidents or a negative effect on me and no change in the current rate of incidents.

So looking at the solution is our best chance at preventing the cause. The only thing that every one agrees on is that the people committing these acts are scum of the earth and need to be stopped. It doesn't help either cause for it to continue.

Im confused. KoH said it was a gun free zone but Derrick is asking if it happens because it is open carry. Isn't that the point? Its showing what gun control provides. Just make the whole state gun free and see what that does to expand the area of this "hotbed".

There are a lot of open carry states. There are also states that prohibits open carry. (Long Gun - California, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Minnesota & New Jersey. Handgun - California, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, New York & South Carolina)

Now look at the list of mass shootings in the past 5 years. Roughly 70 mass shootings. And out of the 70 mass shootings. Places (California, Florida and Illinois) that openly prohibit both handguns and long guns account for 24 of them. Of the other states (DoC, Mass, MN, NJ, NY & S. Carolina) that openly prohibit one or the other types of guns accounts for another 6. So 30 of the 70 mass shootings are in states that prohibit open carry.

Maybe we should start looking at why THAT is happening. I'm not super smart, but it seems to me that these lunatics that are killing people have a better chance of success if they are not met with citizens who have guns. You want to talk prevention? Start there.

Most of the time only a few hardcore people will successfully stonewall. They have alerts and such usually tied to their phone.

Because KR's can happen within 30 seconds, most of the time its not worth it.

However, if you are online while its happening. Small military boosts. Playing turns (selling stuff off private if you are in major negatives). The game adjusts your strat with your pop for the most part. So farmers, indies, cashers are somewhat crippled when low pop until they regain it.

Full of very small boulders? Not to be confused with pebbles.

welcome to the game or welcome back.....honestly, I would join an alliance. Multiple places would be a good place to start:

Netting Groups:
1. LaF (even though I am in the middle of destroying them and they are all crying) - currently the best pound for pound alliance in the game.
2. Monsters - Great netting group, small close knit
3. Evo/Omega - Small group of great netters

War Groups:
1. Mercs - Probably the current leader in war groups
2. SoF/SoL - Both long standing alliances in the game and tend to war more than net
3. Stones - Closer to Mercs in war capabilities, but not as much history as Sof or Sol

Newer Groups:
1. Elders / Hero - Some vets in there, but I would say they are more of a growing group and you never know what you will get if you join.

This would not only help in you getting allies in your country, but also a lot of help with the ins and outs of the current game.

Pffffffttttt - do you even know this forum? We are a collection of whiney babies with real jobs (well most of us).
