1) I think I started in 2009 if I remember correctly.

2)I went to university with qz, where he tried to recruit me numerous times and failed to do so, lol. A couple of years after moving away he tried to recruit me again, and I figured I would start playing as a way of keeping in touch.

3)As it happens, I actually like the game! I like the number crunching, the ruthless realpolitik, and have met some pretty cool people. When I am busy I can still play reasonably well on a small amount of time, it costs nothing, and now I feel some sort of loyalty or something to my fellow Evoers, so until that all changes, I am probably here for the long haul, haha.

I'm doing good. My place is up in marda loop, so I am reasonably unaffected. I grew up in bowness though, so I know a tonne of people who have been forced to evacuate. Thankfully my moms place down there is at a higher altitude and has been unaffected so far. Also grateful that so few people have been hurt. Stuff can be replaced.

Neal: it was in the last two weeks from a late start techer who couldn't find allies.

Euglaf: I agree. There was no way to easily tell at the time how much benefit I had derived from the leech, and it could easily have been far more substantial than it was in reality.

I actually have a fair bit of respect for your policy of enforcing competitive play.

Just for clarification, it was my country that was fa'd out of first the set euglaf speaks of, and I did have a tech leech, but I didn't benefit greatly from it. I only received 110k tech from it, as compared to the several million tech I purchased. I didn't know at the time that tech leeches were frowned upon or considered illegitimate either. Accepting that leech was the worst decision I made that set, lol. No hard feelings from my perspective though, I am totally cool with en4 and ingle, just wanted to clarify.

For what it's worth, based on past conversations ive seen in the evo site, tella has a lot of respect for you guys, and isnt a secret hater. He definitely has 'spurned lover' syndrome in relation to GE though, and seems to have picked up a bad case of foot-mouth syndrome besides.

its only 20 acres min gains if you declare war and the target does not have gdi, i believe? I think there was a change a little while ago about how gdi and declare war interact to change the minimum gains in a given situation.

I logged into alliance, and then shortly after accidentally clicked on "advisor" on a 12 hour old tab that was for my team country, and it caused me to be logged into my team country.

Probably not -really- a bug, given I was already logged in in order to login to my alliance country, but it could definitely be an improvement to give some sort of warning screen in such situations rather than just logging you right into a country that you aren't meaning to play.

As far as I've been able to tell, you have to create your country before the set starts and try to login, then login in the first 20 minutes of the round(not sure if this is necessary), and then login later on the same day. It's happened to me a couple of times, but I haven't consistently replicated it. I think I submitted a bug report in b&s well over a year ago, but it keeps happenening, so either its not considered a bug or its not a priority, not really sure.

I for one don't have any hard feelings about Ingle getting FA; I am a rather easygoing fellow, and I play to have fun and get best finishes I can with the time I have. I had a great time this set, and set a personal best, so I am totally happy. My congrats to Ingle on the other thread were genuine. =)

I also can confirm that i did have a tech leech for part of the set from a newer player of ours that sent me the pact when he couldnt find an actual techer to pact with, and I received a grand total of 155,662 tech from him.

In the actual case it is a casher grabbing a farmer, so there definitely isn't a benefit to tearing them down until at least the empty acres are built.

It seems to me though that a casher topfeeding a farmer and destroying the buildings is of a similar ethical level as a commie grabbing a stocking techer who has a tonne of cash and food on hand. Annoying, bad for relations, and perhaps a good indicator that some serious negotiations are in order to prevent such stupid fluff, but really just a "stone, meet glass house" kind of scenario.

Heh, the nude beach you are all referring to is wreck beach, and it is really quite rad. Has its unfortunate share of fat naked men, but more importantly it has lots of college women, nude yoga, and booze and drugs easily purchasable from convenient temporary stalls and various capitalistic hippies. Definitely worth checking out when in Van.

That's weird. The rates on the wiki are wrong (not outdated, just wrong, heh) past the transition from 11 to 10apt. The transition from 9 to 8 should be at 11895 A.

I would love a circular phone with sharp square edges... Given my propensity for accidentally throwing my phone as I take it out of my pocket, it might not go so well for those around me though...

I strongly like this idea as well.

A forum such as this would really help towards the growth of alliances new and old. I know from my perspective as a reasonably new player (compared to the lot of all you old timers anyhow :P ), getting a grasp of inter and intra alliance dynamics was one of the most difficult aspects of this game, and I know I still have a lot of growth to go.

It would be nice to have a forum such as this where cooperative efforts were the norm. It could quite possibly offset some of the craziness that seems to grow out of the mudslinging mire that AT can become.

Apart from this one situation that qzjul himself brought to light, no member of evo has ever accessed the database illegitimately. As can be seen, this is a -completely- different kind of situation than with hanlong and tc.

I agree, homework for homeworks sake is fluffing stupid.

In highschool, I used to skip class and homework to go to the park to study. Some of my teachers hated me for it, and others thought it hilarious. I have a long line of classes in grades 8, 9 and 10 passed with 51% because I completed no homework, attended almost no class, and got 95+% on the final exams, lol. Eventually I got into a school that let me progress at my own pace rather than forcing me to attend classes and do homework on subjects I had already mastered, and from then on, life was good!
