Don't really know how we are going about it... Probably electronic calls and we were thinking baiting with dead iso-ween pigs but I got the regs today and the state ruined that plan you can place dead agricultural animals on public land even if they are removed every day :(

And it will be in the teens for temp I assume mabe a touch below zero hard to say what the Minny winter will do plan on getting good pair of shooting gloves

What about .243 how does that compare that's on the lower end of recommended rounds according to dnr and Minnesota's regs for big game are .220 cal or bigger center fire for rifles so are there any others really besides .243 .270...... I think .223 is to light and same for 22-250 and I think its hard to find rounds for either that arnt varmit rounds and every thing I read says varmit rounds don't get enough penetration on a wolf

.270 is what I'm thinking my ideal shot will be some where around the 200 yard range ideally.... But we all know how well that works. And I'm open to other calibers as well but I want something multi purpose that won't obliterate the wolves pelt and from what I looked at the .270 fits that
I was planning on shopping around getting the feel for them like you said but was just interested in what rifles other people like to get an idea

Yes its Minnesota's lottery 3600 get drawn for a 220 wolf quota split into two seasons we applied and drew for the late season it starts Nov.29

I usually aways bow hunt but I just got drawn for a wolf hunt and am looking to buy new rifle what brands are best I have been looking at weatherby vanguard series 2 in a .270 any other suggestions

Hmmm in Minnesota you can't use crossbows during the archery season can only use them firearm season

And yes the anti gun / anti hunting groups just keep spewing useless garbage because deep down they know how wrong and stupid their arguments are

Back to original post hunting ,trapping and self defense concealed carry...... And where I live I can't remember the last time there was break in/ robbery and I don't think there has ever been a murder in my town one 5-6 years ago in the county I live in........ And around here I can think of a single person that doesn't own a firearm...... Except maybe the people that have drug charges but I doubt they care that its illegal to have a gun just a guess

And its not against the law to carry in an airport trife as long as your in public areas before the security checks hell we can carry in the state capital if we want to all we gotta do is call the state patrol give them your permit info and they say OK your good to go

And you have to read more into it they verbally requested people to not bring guns into the store they WILL NOT be posting signs and said themselves that there is no ban on guns in target

Minnesota you can carry pretty much everywhere only can't in prisons/jails or schools
And in mn the little ban guns signs don't matter they usually arent big enough or the right wording just a gun with a cross doesn't count..... And if it is posted you can still carry in the building... The manager has to then ask you to leave and if you refuse max penelty is $25 trespass fine that's all ;)

But that's why you conceal nobody knows it doesn't hurt em

You only get one shot and its just a black bear they won't kill ya just rough you up if your that unlucky bears would much rather avoid conflict most all attacks are because your to close and startle them they don't go around looking to kill and eat people or anything for that matter a black bear is much more content with berries and acorns then they are for meat

Hunt with a bow and be done with it.... A bow can take any big game animal.... Small game and fishing its your all around best bet
