In the US there isn't much of a safety net if you don't work for a big organization and build up a pension. And most of those organizations will lay you off and rip off your pension plan if they get a chance.

Here in Canada I was disabled 4 years ago at 51 years old and I have a pretty good monthly check, free medical and prescriptions, emergency dental. I can make a few extra dollars fixing computers and stuff with no penalty. I'm not rich by any means but by living pretty frugally and growing my own weed I do very well.

I was taking you up on that 3-year offer for a cold one. I had no idea you lived in the same city as my daughter, once you told me where you live i simply told you i would be there in the fall. And returned a vulgarity that you've sent my way more than once, on these forums and in personal messages.
I know that's the extent of your social abilities, but I thought it was all in a 'nasty fun' frame.
But then you made it obvious that your threat of physical harm is real. You are a sociopath with no redeemable qualities whatsoever. I have no desire to have a cold beer with a raging nutcase.

Yours is a psychology that lives in constant fear.

Knowing very little, you sense threats everywhere.

That was useful when we roamed the savannah with sabre tooth cats just out of the light of our campfires.
A shadow stirs, and it's logical to assume danger. With every gust that stirs a branch it's better to be ready for battle than to be caught off guard..

But we've had tens of thousands of years to evolve past that knee-jerk emotion. Most of us have.
You only feel. You don't think. And you are the type that rages cuz you live in a constant state of skeered.

That's the aim of gish gallop - throw so much BS out there that it's nearly impossible to refute everything.

With my 401k, early withdrawal is painful. I have been moving s l o w l y thru a lawsuit for over three years. I didn't want to tap it with the penalties involved. I could have, with lesser penalty, at age 59 1/2, but that was just last winter. My lawsuit looked like it was going to settle in March but then one of the respondents insurance companies filed a desperate motion which had to be heard by a judge, That took months, delaying the Mediation that results in a settlement before going all the way to trial.
With all the motions cleared, my Mediation is now scheduled for next month and my 401k is intact for when i reach retirement age.

You see how much explanation is involved to refute just one little BS lie that a gish galloper throws out there?
And really, it's none of your fricking business. But you guys don't seem to understand how this stuff works.

Oh and by the I just received the election packet for a place i worked at 20+ years ago (for a little over five years) that is ending their pension program, and I have to decide whether or not to roll that over or take a lump sum payout, with 20% tax penalty.
Guess which I choose

Oh and one more thing for those of you that think it's funny that I'm now physically disabled.

I was healthy active and fit all my life. Had a good career as a metallurgist and specialized in failure analysis in an independent lab. Half the job was labwork, half the job was chasing microfractures in complex castings sometimes sectioned in half-ton segments, cutting those castings down to a half inch square for scanning electron microscopy. It had some significant physical demands, it wasn't just a cushy desk job.
Just the summer before my life changed forever, i could still dunk a b-ball when messing around on the basketball court with my grandson. At age 56. I looked forward to the snowmelt in the spring because white water rafting was a passion. So was hiking back country trails in Michigan's UP, biking and ultimate frisbee.
I know I could have kicked heston's cowardly butt if it came down to that but wtf is wrong with having a cold beer instead? what the hell happened to that cretin to make him so hateful?

I knew I was getting older, but it was one day, one month, one year at a time. That's part of life, unless you die young.

Do you have any idea what it's like to have that all change in one moment? Can you imagine that happening to you?

yeah, have lulz making fun of my fricked up leg, you neanderthals. And hope that karma doesn't catch up to you.

Yeah that's lucky, that bullet could have done a lot of damage. Being younger no doubt helps.
Rotational fracture of tibia and fibula. Knee-to-ankle titanium inside the tibia. haha they take apart the knee, open up the top if the tibia, and mallet that titanium rod all the way down. I went from dunking a bball to walking with a cane.

Did they by chance have you on dilaudid for pain? otherwise known as hospital heroin. Powerful, nasty stuff. No doubt it helped with the pain but it made me so loopy that eventually I was better able to deal with the discomfort without it and never filled the script when i was released from the hospital. Even in that short time, the beginning of addiction was notable. To avoid dangerous compartmentalization i had to wait nearly 3 weeks in a hospital bed waiting for the swelling to subside with several godawful cast changes to flex the ankle prior to surgery.

Rotational fractures are nasty, the displacement is hard to re-align. The tibia fracture was at the bottom, starting above the ankle and spiraling up to nearly mid calf, while the fibula fractured just below the knee. The ankle was affected by resulting arthritis, despite rigorous PT and the knee is rather unstable laterally.

animation of the surgery:
https://youtu.be/8kSVyKnQIqU

I guess I should consider myself lucky in a sense too. I could be in a wheelchair. Kudos to medical science.

I was on morphine every 2 hours and 20mg codone every 4 immediately after the surgery. They called it morphine, I never looked into what it really was. They kept me on the codone after the fact but i made them jump from the 10mgs to the 5s and never asked for a refill after that. Not a fan of opiates.

I got the shakes and was cold as fluff when they took me off the morphine after 3 days. it was miserable. and i didn't fluff for a week.

I did my own rehab because unfortunately it wasn't my first leg injury so i had experience in what needed to be done. Mostly it was just range of motion fluff and stretches. non-weight bearing for 5 months leads to stiffness and atrophy as im sure you know.

Yeah most of the early rehab was at home. I remember these insane sensations of liquid running down the front of my shin when there was nothing there. I hated that walker i had to use to get around in the house. And just getting to the point of allowing a toe-touch on the floor was a major victory at the time. I thought I was on a good path to recovery but about eight/nine months in i hit a plateau and that was it.

well there ya go just making stuff up in your little mini-me head again

to condense your fantasy down to something a little more factual you first have to realize that psychopathy and sociopathy though similar in some respects are far from interchangeable when describing your condition.

Here this will be easy for you, an easily recognizable attribute: Because you possess absolutely no charm, you are a sociopath.

We have yet to see a single fact transcend from your tiny brain into these forums. We see a lot of copy and paste links from your Barbera Boxer toddler abortion overlords...
