This is an example of if you have a proper looking country and look pro.. i will skip the land grab and look for another target. You were probably 1 of 6 I skipped due to various reasons... you most likely because you had max turns and beyond.... 50k to break is nice.. but losing 2.5k later when you have the same NW isnt

B strong everyone is entitled to "their" land but the difference here is your wasting it because you've already burned turns and lost more NW in carrying massive jets and oil costs then making a late game retal like that is worth.
Difference between being a good player and a mediocre player, is knowing when its worth making a retal or not.

I had almost 20k land, my stock techs were almost maxed. 285 turrns on hand, pkus 360 still to come with 30mil bushels. I was sitting pretty to finish my retals and great. But then some fluff happened

When considering whether to delete someone for coordination just check the damn country history! This guy farmed half a dozen people, and since more than one shot missiles at him in response you're deleting them? That defies all common sense

Well if there are messages, that might actually justify the deletion, but by messages I don't just mean something like, "Oh you attacked that guy? He 5x tapped me and I'm going to missile him too," or, "I just attacked that guy who farmed me. He farmed you too, are you gonna hit him?" Those are harmless kinds of messages. For it to be coordination he'd have to say, "I think we can take this guy down together," or, "When I missile him you should missile him after," or something like that.

Why would you retal though if your set is gone? Only reason I can think is if you use the same name every reset and want to prevent people from grabbing you in the future. Otherwise it's just you being a poor sport over being hit.

Blid it depends if you only look at it as profitability. If you were farmed, and your chances of getting a top finish are gone, then bringing righteous retribution to those who wronged you, is important.

Your right people get mad, simply because someone else plays turns before you, canceling your ability to retal in a reasonable time, does not mean that you don't deserve the right to hit them back, whether it helps you or not.

As a general principle, if it is possible to retal without suffering a huge loss of NW yourself, then you should retal. Sometimes you should retal even if it does cost you a lot. The loss of acres early on to "bottomfeeders" is multiplied exponentially by the end of the set and a huge retal is reasonable to take. If you make a policy of usually retaliating and occasionally making a late set retal you will develop a reputation as someone who should be avoided by the early start bottomfeeders.

That being said, I hate jetter retallers too :) Is that hypocrisy or application of principles according to self interest?
