I know some of you that clicked this thread hate me. I have made more than my share of enemies. Like me or hate me I want to appeal to the side that is a person first, and a player of earth empires second.

I was deeply disturbed at the number that was assigned to my country. Even a year ago our numbers were not so low. I am interested only in the HONEST answer to a couple of questions so that POSSIBLY we can create an environment that is conducive to new players.

I don't actually hate anyone who plays this game. Heck, some of the people I used to troll non-stop around here I"ve actually met and had drinks with and laughed about it.
I should point out that this is a non-scientific survey. Only a small portion of active players actually read this forum much less post on it so your results will be biased:P

Having said all that, if you want some aggregate user statistics, data to help complete your study, message qz and see if he is willing to share.

2) people I knew in university gamers club made me do it
3) because this game doesn't ask me to insert quarters to continue unlike many annoying tablet games.

Martian, i appreciate your suggestion. Yes I know it is non-scientific. This is not the only avenue I am looking at and data such as what qz has would also be useful. At the risk of skewing the data further, user participation in such a survey was something I was factoring also. I know that even an appeal to those that dislike me will not reach all of them. I know that otherwise active players will refuse to participate because of bias towards me.

My interest is in the psychology behind, and behavior patterns when it comes to playing EE in regards to this survey.

2) I researched and tried various multiplayer games to find one I liked since I had a lot of extra time, and I like this one.
3) Because its a challenging and interesting game, though it can get addictive and too time consuming

2) BRE was the best BBS game I was playing before the net was available without paying long distance for it. Earth was a natural transition.
3) Because I have no life or suck at finding better things to do. I have friends which keep me here but rarely enjoy the game anymore.

B) some kid in my video production class in 8th grade was playing it next to me. It was a way to kill time in boring class.

C) The community. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few players and all have been enjoyable. That and trolling SoF. I am increasingly concerned about the lack of boobs in recent wardecs though. This trend is alarming...

2. something to spend time during school, some1 in other webgame told me about earth.

3. due community, w/o community this game wouldn't have lasted this long, even if a and b dislike themselves they play to get opponent killed.

2. Stumbled on it, looked interesting and was interesting.
3. As mentioned several times above, the people in the community. Many of whom I have met in person and enjoyed their company immensely. It's the community I play for. Even the guys who I oppose at every turn can be friends. I have not met anyone whom I did not like that plays this game.

1)00 0r 01-2006(On and Off) Found this game again last year
2) High school friend played it and got me hooked
3)I play it now because I want to achieve 1st place in alliance at least once and than I might be good to leave the game. It is also addicting for some reason, what makes it fun for me is that I don't need graphics to play this strategy game which makes it even more challenging in my opinion, its like battling an enemy without being able to use all your senses.

i started playing this game since i was 15. im 31 now...

friend introduced me. while he quit shortly after i was completely hooked.

3) Why do you still play?
#1 reason, because its convenient for my current lifestyle.

#2 because to this day i still find this game fascinating and entertaining. ( dont think i would ever want to take a leadership role tho.. toooo much bullfluff )

1) since 2003. Stopped for total of 2 years I guess so I think around 8 years already.

2) Saw someone in a cafe playing it I think.

3) Still a fun game. No graphics and you can play with little time per day.
