This is all about CC taking a backseat to IMP in the Total Net and Avg. net categories in the game, coupled with a couple of landgrabs. IMP did not start the war, and had not planned on warring, and was actually winning the avg net race with CC. Thus CC was embarrassed to be be outperformed by a bunch of newbies to the game that had joined IMP.

I get it, ford has penis envy. Simple really.
