I bought an i3 with a little better specs for 450.00 about 2 years ago. I would pay 200-300 for the same computer today. I would say that is a good deal. You can always pitch 20-40 bucks and put in extra ram.

Looks fine, but ask the following:
Do you still have the Win 7 install/backup CD and/or key from Dell? (when you get it, check under the battery for the certificate + windows key)

And you'll probably want to wipe the HDD then reinstall Windows & drivers before letting her at it.

I wouldnt know how to do any of that :-(

If all she is going to use it for is to surf the web then just about anything would work for that. The specs only really matter if your going to be doing some hardcore gaming online.

specs are good enuf but like pang said you'd better format hdd and do clean install of win 7 even its trusted seller.

Just cough up an extra 100 bucks to get a new/refurb machine for the same specs on newegg.

3 gig is bit low amount of memory and integrated graphics takes part of it so either get more mem for that (change 1 gb ram to 2 gb ram) or do what li suggests.
