Not sure if it was eesite....thought it was echelon.

Fame was gained when attacking other players. The higher they were above you in rank, the more fame you received. However, you still gained fame if you were attacked.

Mercenaries anyone? Anarchy? Bio? Pre-Communism? Sanctions? Mehul playing the game?

BBS servers were pretty fun. Other than the 16 on 16 I believe it was. Gooey Kablooie 4LIFE. Lottery!

1998 spam tags, rainbows and multies.
First clan was the smurfs three sets before they shut down and the game moved companies. My first legitimate set as a clan member actually learning strats outside my precious rainbow was ZT at the end of their first set.

I started in EZClan days back in RAGE. well was originally in a spam tag, joined Valor, merged into Rage, Valor later left to join MD I played a set there and then moved offline for a couple yers -200 is came back to the game and rejoined RAGE, been here ever since

Just for reference the first official web based game was in Sept of 96. Which is when I consider my start. 250 people played in it and it was only a single server. I also played the beta.

Course the bbs servers with your 25 man team started well before this. Such things as the lottery and the purchase of a gooey kablooie(sp?).

Earth went through a lot of crazy changes. Some notable ones:

Anarchy as a govt.
Buy and sell of missiles and spies
Fame
Mercenaries
A game prior to communism or fascism as a gov.
Sanctions
Bio as a missile (I forget what it was before that, but someone may know)
Xyz games
Mehul Patel talking to the players

Feel free to add to the list. My memory is a little cloudy.

well, i started playing with my Denise Austin pedometer about 25 minutes ago, which also appears to be the time that it takes me to walk 0.00 miles and burn 0.2 calories. maybe my legs have just gotten longer. i used to be able to walk 3mph...

Hrm. You know... I'm not entirely sure. I found the site by random somehow and ended up playing tourney but got bored and after that round was over I quit. One of you oldsters might be able to place the timeing... I remember the topic of conversation at the time was Earth Day. Either it had just happened or was happening.

I do know I started back and in 1A in 1999.

Funny... in all these years since I've only played one other tourney game, waiting to start my first set in 1A back in 99. Just not my thing.
