Regarding mdemon - I had no idea who ran this country which is why I farmed it early on. After I dropped defense and have up, looks to me like he merely took some retals - look at the news. It was other players getting free land off of me, not mdemon.

Andrew - how in the world can you be topfed with less than four hours?
If you are in GDI, no one can hit you with less than 6 hrs left , if you haven't hit them. A topfeed implies a completely unprovoked hit by a smaller country ...
So I'm assuming if you were in GDI and there was indeed less than 4 hours to play - that this was no topfeed but rather a fair retal.

I believe in the last 6 hours of a round, non-GDI countries can hit GDI countries. No idea if this is actually true, or why.

Anyways, I ran my signature DR-to-the-top country this reset. Of course, certain countries took advantage of me and didn't follow instructions. I thought about missiling that quinnibaug douche, but he was dead before I got to him--same for another multi-tapper. And, of course, Generic was one rank above me near the end, so I took him down and ran out of food at the same time.

If I hadn't been so bent on revenge (while at church), I might have made top 20.

haha sorry. I was playing too ambitiously - if I would have just teched out at 13k land, I could've challenged oldman. But I made retals on non-GDI countries and weirdos and they all came at me for my low defense, despite the 75k warfare tech and 250 turns on hand. I end up getting in wars or whatever probably more often than not on Express nowadays but this one was a little sad since tech had so much potential

You make it sound like Vic gave me all his land or something. It was not given, I took my retals and was looking forward to warring him.

I wanted to war him for triple tapping me, and him having a shot at top 10.

It was my first set back since a very long time. I had 1 mediocre ally, and wasn't shooting for top 10. It just happen that way.

Either way, don't accuse me of doing things that I don't ever do, cheat!

There's no GDI restraints against attacking a country in the last 6 hours when you're not in GDI. Since he wasn't in GDI it didn't matter that you were.

However, that being said you wouldn't haven been able to attack a non GDI country that didn't hit you in the last 6 hours. This has come up before for discussion but nothing was done about it.

TNTroxxor had used that country name on one of the many sets he was harrassing me. Since I was returning to earth empires, I thought the country name set well.

So I took it :P

I didn't understand mdemon's country at all when I spied on it. It had like 1000 res 1000 bus 3000 labs 500 farms and 2000 barren land

blid, sound like he was grabbing heavily without rebuilding. if you don't need money from teching and most of your turns are grabbing or spying, then you might as well keep the productive acres.

No, it was before he'd attacked anyone. He batch explored out to 8100, that's a lot of turns spent exploring so maybe he wanted income producing buildings during that time. So, it must be part of some sort of special tech start-up he uses but I still find it odd... I didn't think it was a good player when I grabbed it.

blid i felt the same way. i was totally dumbfounded when i spied mdemon. never really had seen a set up like that. and he wasn't storing turns. very well played. love creative strats like that.

also we need to stop listing the top 25. that's 25% of the game. that'd be like the top 250 listed on AT. in fact, the top 10 are only listed on AT ... not even top 25. so why we list t25 here blows my mind.

I have my own way of doing things, and as vic told me, at first glace my country looks "extraordinarily n00b." lol!!!!

I did batch explore all the way to 8K+ acres. Since I had already been lg a few times, I didn't think I would lose that much land.

thanks folks. This is actually the 3rd set I've played after I quit in March last year. Had a bit of time over the last weekend, so decided to give it a shot. Won't be back for a while, so cheers =)
