I'm not an American, the question is moot:P

I am more than happy to discuss Canadian politics with y'all.

I am also more than willing to engage in a debate with you regarding pension plans, why the Canadian CPP should be expanded and is really the best option, and why the US 401K (and defined contribution pension plans) are a joke. Also willing to discuss my thoughts on the US insurance and financial regulatory regimes.
Hell, I'll even link you to the picture of a gerrymander if you like:P

No he doesnt. He wants Social Security and Medicare to be around for a long time. Democrats don't because that would mean they'd lose elections.

As of right now we are almost split 50/50 here... Much closer than I would have thought:

Republican
47.6%

Democrat
52.4%

We need more voters!!!

Maybe if you included a choice worth voting for, more people would vote. Dumbass.

I would vote, if you had included Libertarian as an option. Or even just "other". But not "independent", because I am not an independent.

Rockman no one cares about your option because your vote only decides who you steal the win from...

I have a feeling you vote Democrat but if you vote third party you're just throwing your vote away.

Besides is it that hard to pick either Republican or Democrat for the sake of this stupid poll? Just pick who you align more closely with...

I have never voted for a Democrat or for a Republican. How does my vote determine who I steal a win from, if I wasn't going to vote for either person in the first place?

I'm a member of the Libertarian Party, but I'm a Libertarian Socialist, along the lines of Murray Bookchin, Bertrand Russell, and George Orwell. And no, Obama is NOT a socialist.

I will not and cannot pick Republican or Democrat, because I am nowhere near either party.

You might as well ask me whether I prefer the Muslim Brotherhood, or the Freedom and Justice Party. Which one of those two do you prefer?

That's cool Rockman you don't have to vote on my poll.

What I mean by stealing the vote from the winner is the fact that either the republican or democrat will win that's just how it is. Unless you vote for one of them you're just voting for no reason.

Maybe someday a Libertarian Socialist can be up for vote? Probably not in our lifetime, but maybe! We've had a 1/2 black president I guess next is a woman then who knows maybe a Libertarian Socialist :p

im a republicrat i think. i agree with rockman, if people werent so ignorant and didnt have the mindset of "voting independent is a waste of a vote" this country would be better off.

i think theyre both idiots. its a sad day when we have to chose the person least likely to make things worse, rather then chosing the person who will be a better president.

Until you get at least 4 serious parties I don't see anything good changing. With 3 you only split the vote on whichever side is closest to eachother. With 4 you stand a chance of having more variety...

I was a Republican Precinct Chairman who found himself voting Democrat too often in local politics. I haven't ever been able to justify voting Democrat on a national level, but locally the Dems seem to have a better grasp of what needs to happen. I am no longer a Precinct Chairman after I openly campaigned against an extremely undesirable Republican candidate.

I don't know what that makes me anymore?

Brink: I kind of vote in a similar way. Nationally I tend to vote Democrat FAR more often than not (in U.S. Senatorial and Presidential elections, I'm not sure I've ever cast a Republican vote), but for state level stuff around here, I'm much more open to voting Republican because in Illinois, the state-level Democrats are complacent and often corrupt. I'd like to see the Democrats have to really work more towards the middle, so basically as long as a Republican doesn't spew something totally ignorant in the state-level elections, I'm probably more likely to vote Republican for governor/Assemblyman/State Senator.
