I'd like to be a Republican, but they stopped bothering with facts during the beginning of the Reagan administration. Facts have a liberal bias because Democrats are the only political party to incorporate fact into their decision-making process.

I refuse to support in any way a group who has as its majority a constituency that believes the definition of compromise is the other party agreeing with them. Leadership is the ability to get things done, not to whine -- and Republicans in America are too self-centered to recognize that.

I agree with Servant... the Tea Party has forced the Republicans too far to the right and made them say crazy things.

I agree with the rational republicans... but not the Palins and Perrys so much.

For those of you who aren't actually familiar with Tea Party roots and what they stand for. ^^^^

yes yes, we get it... The Tea Party Movement Message - Reduce Taxes, Reduce Debt, Reduce Spending.

I would debate the problems I have with this philosophy but I feel that it's run its course in America after November.

He didn't give an "other" option, so voter "turnout" is not 100%, because some people looked at the poll and did not vote, because there was no suitable option.

ColoOutlaw: Your actions define what you stand for.

The Tea Party does not stand for reduced spending. Seriously, they don't - no tea party budget actually reduces nominal spending. They do, however, want to decrease taxes on the top 1% and increase taxes on everyone else.. just like every Republican ever.

I take it that means you're an Independent, because that's, at least, Obama's definition of compromise too. Good for you being an Independent.

I would like to see all political parties go away and it just be one party, America. Having republicans vs. democrats only gets in the way of doing what is best for America.

Requiem, parties aren't all bad. They do represent a point of view and help get it elected. However, I believe national parties are bad because they end up representing nothing more than what will them elected. I favor finding a way for candidates to only get money from their voting constituency. If you are running for a congressional seat, you can only get money from that district. Senate, that state. President, anywhere. It would still create parties, but the parties wouldn't be the same everywhere and it would defacto create "third" parties on all lower federal and state elected offices.

How that would be done? I have no idea, but someone smarter than me could come up with something.
