And if all you have is a plan you need to be pitching to friends, family, or fools, no one is going to loan you cash with no collateral. You should be building it up first, make it actually worth something then look for a loan, but even then you'd more than likely be putting the business as collateral.

You have alot to learn.

Noone will give you money, unless they can get something in return. ( except family ) but that NEVER ends well. Any investor will need to go through your business plan which MUST include sales forecast, profit and loss statements ( projected for 60 months ) and these must be quantified through market research.

Telling someone you'll pay them back at 10% interest over 5 years is not enough. Not near it. I don't want to squash your dreams, but the start up market is extremely competitive, extremely and most all think they have the best idea and a fail proof plan.

Remember no business plan is fail proof.

People have already posted links to venture and startup capital which I suggest you get on and read there entry requirements.

I do wish any startup the best success. I have successfully done the venture capital route and can say it's hard work. I would also recommend if you can raise your own capital, perhaps save up develop a prototype or sample and market that on a small scale to test your idea. Then you have results you can take with you to an investor.

I've been doing the start up thing for a few years now.

Honest advise: Self fund and compound your investment.

Asking for loans from venture capitalists or other investors is a good way to wind up losing complete control of your company if things actually work out.

You may grow slower, but at the end of the day, you can keep it all for you, rather than having to report to a board of directors that have little to no interest in your vision other than the fact they fronted some money. 100k isn't that much. With a decent job and some discipline you can come up with it fairly fast.

Be frugal, be smart. Sleep on every decision you make. Hire professionals (HIRE, DON'T ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE TO TAKE A SLICE OF YOUR COMPANY) and pay them well for their services.

One other thing: Never give up. This is the road less traveled, but the rewards are immense. I'm 28 years old, and nearly able to retire. Let that serve as motivation for you. :)

I'm really doubting your seriousness if you're willing to pay 11% interest. Considering normal rates going in the 7-8% range and foreign banks willing to dish out 5-6%.

A "sound business plan" is something I wrote in college econ, putting it to the test is a whole different thing.
