well qz and pang have always told me they wouldnt do changes to FFA without talking to FFA people due to the fact FFA is different to all other servers. so who knows

i like the idea of ramping % killed a lot more than the idea of reducing % killed based on defence

ironically this change matters a lot less for ffa because everyone who wants to fight can have 16 countries, and you only need about half that to get 1 kill

so worst case someone who lost a few countries would have about 8 do one kill then 5 fail on a second kill if they didnt work with at least one other person, but if you really can only kill by yourself you can just use 8/13 of your turns and have 18/13 tomorrow then do 2 kills then yourself, leaving 2/13 leftover and so on

It should take between 200 and 300 hits to make a kill;

In AlphaFFA i was making kills on 30kA cashers with 850k pop in about 240 hits for ones with low def (1:1 turrets:pop) and about 275 hits for ones with high def (5:1 turrets:pop)

Smaller countries of course go faster; 225 hits for a medium sized farmer with decent defense for example.

Something with no def that is small or medium could come in well under the 200 mark.

I asked that in the other thread and he said that it was specific to the attack type. So buying turrets on a gs would not make any difference.

idk it seems like a great change for single country servers where keeping your single country alive is a little more important. i dont see any issues with the way FFA is working. those extra 20-30 hits it takes is not going to make any difference from a walling perspective when you have 4 people with 5 tabs set on a target. its just going to lower the amount of kills you can get with a set amount of turns. so yes it will make wars last longer but in the end wont help a fast kill run

So yes, it's being implemented here ;) and you guys can tell me how it works. Honestly, yea, I don't really expect it to change FFA much; you guys use too many countries too quickly to make a HUGE difference; that said, if you have a pet country, you might be able to make it last longer (like if you are doing pyramid to one country)

it potentially can make it a *lot* harder for suiciders to do damage to you, depending on your country build.
Having helped test this, there's no guarantee that the change will work as intended in all situations which is why we are going to want examples of anything really odd that might pop up. I will say that we have tested this a lot more extensively than the restart changes or any change prior to this one so hopefully there will be no issues.
