These stupid one sided wars without any reason are different from being botted? They're the same thing with the same intention. Trying to seriously hurt the other alliance by getting them to lose members.

There is virtually no distinction to be drawn here as the end result is the same. SOF wasnt the only alliance to be botted, yet you were one of the only alliances to sob off.

no, one sided wars are less bad then bots, since the first one dosent break the rules.

But whit that said I didnt mean one sided wars are good, defenetly not.

I don't disagree, but in my opinion once its not cheating it's a different question.

Botting was a question of the game mods, uneven wars and dodgy FA work and being dishonorable are all issues that should be dealt with by self-regulation.

I guess its up to each alliance to hold themselves to standard and failing that if things get too out of hand for other alliances to let them know when they are out of line... by FA or by force.

One sided wars, dodgy FA, and uneven wars can only be regulated by the community. If the community takes too long to punish these activities or simply chooses to cry about it instead of punishing it then there's no reason not to participate in this behavior.

Talk is cheap.

You can't hardly have an even war in this game since it's so small. You could try a planned war, but even then they're usually not really even and they're boring.

How about small or netgaining alliances just don't fluff with bigger ones and have a little common sense? I don't see anyone picking on Monsters and that's because they've always had intelligent leaders. The good of the alliance should come before the leader's pride.

If you're not supposed to attack someone that has wronged you, then why is there even attacking in this game? Just take special attacks out. It's just crazy to me how it's my responsibility not to attack someone if they're smaller, even though they're provoking me. I wouldn't look for a fight when I led before, but if someone came looking for one they'd get it whether they were bigger or smaller. It's not my responsibility to even the numbers in a war I didn't instigate.

Also, what is even fair? 60 vs 50? 60 vs 55? It's all subjective. We all know damn well it's never going to be 60 vs 60.

I haven't seen any just out of the blue attacks on an alliance that can only be attributed to vindictiveness. I would have a problem with that or trying to destroy an alliance. Those two things are clearly wrong. Like I said before just because the side being hit doesn't think it's fair, doesn't mean the other side doesn't feel justified in its actions.

I do think the pact breaking is a big issue and I don't intend to let SoF break any pacts under my watch. People need honor the agreements they make, no exceptions.

Maybe we need to declare next round mandatory netgaining for the whole server?

planned wars aren`t the only way of assuring even or fun wars.

Say, bigger tags should be able to take a FS instead of doing it. That would assure a few more days of fun for both sides instead of, say, the ridiculous wars LAF got for itself these past couple of sets.

Helmet - most of your points are valid but they are from the SoF side of things.

It's easy to say small alliances shouldn't "fluff" with the bigger ones when you're one of the big ones. The problem is from your side you see it as them fluffing with you and from the other side it is seen as not letting SoF bully you around because they are bigger.

It's all about perspective...

TheMatrix: I have said many times that both sides feel their view is correct. That's why it's not as simple of an issue as everyone says.

Back in 2009 and 2010 SOF wasn`t afraid of losing (and even further back). That is why we had wars with WoG, LAF, TIE, SOL, NA, etc.

Like aponic pointed, that spirit seems gone from the game.

Firstly, no one wants to lose, no fluff.

The calibre of a vaunted and respected alliance is how much they are willing to risk losing in order to win a great victory.

There are alliances who are not willing to risk anything. In the place of this is an empty feeling for both sides and a vacuum of non-achievement. This leads to long term resentment, finger pointing, continual cycles of revenge and a persistent paranoia from the alliance that started the entire mess who (at greater and greater levels of cowardice) constantly tries to avoid retaliation at all costs.

Those alliances who are not prepared to take a first strike, continue to start wars earlier and earlier, continue to show contempt to other alliances, continue to claim against all rhyme and reason that their actions are just and continue to manipulate other smaller alliances to do their bidding are so blinded that they keep bumbling along and feeding their paranoia.

The answer to the issues right now are not reconciliation as the alliances who are scared to risk losing are begging for - the answer is to grow some fluffing nuts and prove yourself on an even battlefield. If some bright spark allowed that to happen 12 months ago, this current situation would never have materialised.

If more clans worried as much about whats going on behind the scenes of their alliances, as opposed to others.... we wouldn't be limited to such few larger alliances.

I didn`t say that the current SOF was afraid either (two wars for cause with PDM isn`t enough to make a call), I only said that the slightly older SOF wasn`t and that the spirit seems gone from the server.
