Firstly, no one wants to lose, no fluff.

The calibre of a vaunted and respected alliance is how much they are willing to risk losing in order to win a great victory.

There are alliances who are not willing to risk anything. In the place of this is an empty feeling for both sides and a vacuum of non-achievement. This leads to long term resentment, finger pointing, continual cycles of revenge and a persistent paranoia from the alliance that started the entire mess who is constantly trying to avoid retaliation at all costs.

Those alliances who are not prepared to take a first strike, continue to start wars earlier and earlier, continue to show contempt to other alliances, continue to claim against all rhyme and reason that their actions are just and continue to manipulate other smaller alliances to do their bidding are so blinded that they keep bumbling along and feeding their paranoia.

The answer to the issues right now are not reconciliation as the alliances who are scared to risk losing are begging for - the answer is to grow some fluffing nuts and prove yourself on an even battlefield. If some bright spark allowed that to happen 12 months ago, this current situation would never have materialised.
