What's the standard practice for when they get them out? I ordered mw3 from newegg and the turds haven't even shipped it yet.

I don't order many games, but I think the last time I preordered from Amazon they actually shipped it out the day before so I'd have it on release day.

They can't ship until they are released, so since it was released at midnight last night, they can't ship until the P/O opens today.

You would have been better off NOT getting it online. Im already lvl 25 ;-) Pain is even further along!

In general, yes, newegg is sweet.

For MW3, i'll take Best Buy, any day. I'm lvl 20 or so I think, plus a third of the way thru single player on Veteran.

Not sure on Games, but you get a sweet deal on dvds/blu-rays with amazon and play.com.. if they are released on the monday, I always get them on the friday before with play.com and the saturday before with amazon.

But thats UK.

I ended up just ordering it for store pickup from Gamestop.

When I have them sent to the house, it comes USPS and they never get there before the next day after the release, so I wouldnt get it until at least today if I hadnt picked it up myself.

typically when I pre-order stuff I just arrange for instore pickup to avoid this.
There were massive lineups to get MW3 right near where I work though lol.. which is scary given that there are like 6 large stores that sell video games within a four block radius including two large gamestops and a bestbuy lol

Pre-orders in the uk are always shipped before the release date.
For MW2 i have the game 2 days before its official release date from pre-ordering.

Figured it would have been the same for games. Sometimes Amazon.co.uk just amaze me with how "useless" they must be at working towards release dates, I recieved a Blu-Ray earlier this year (I think it was Inception) 5 days before it was due out. Good for me, but makes me wonder if they know what they are doing :P

I've resisted buying MW3 precisely because I did that this year. I always bought the CODs, but I figured BF3 is new to me and I enjoy the flying chopper/plane and driving vehicles. Plus huge maps. I'm curious what people think of new MW3 compared to Black Ops or MW--same thing with new maps or vast improvement?

Also, the shipping is always a bad idea if you want a game on release day. Better to prepay the store and pick it up on your way home from work. I've done that twice at Best Buy and it takes me 5 minutes and I avoid shipping costs.

IMO, the game is almost the same as MW2. updated graphics, but still about the same. It seems fluffty cause I always seem to die by like 3 bullets or less in regular core, while taking like 7 to kill someone. With hit markers, I'm certain in how many hits it is taking cause you can hear them.

Overall I like gears of war 3 better than MW3. Discuss?

I used to work for UPS. I quit when the teamsters went on strike.

I cancelled from newegg, picked it up at best buy for $9 more. Then the idiots at newegg said they didn't get it cancelled in time and it's shipping.

I never preorder games mainly because in their run for cash they always leave out some bugs and I would really be pissed if I bought it and couldn't play it like it did for some with ATI HD graphic cards and BF3. Anyways...tried them both, BF3 and MW3. I've been a fan of Modern Warfare since it came first. BF3...i can't play it. BF3 AI is truly hateful. You find yourself dead and you don't know where it came from. In MW you always see the enemies and the controls (on PC at least) are very good. I will buy it in a month or so because I truly love the graphics and the gameplay in it.
