Somebody should just abuse the fluff out of landtrading to have the admins do something about it. This self-regulation won't work forever. I didn't see SoF make a peep when PDM/Evo did it to some extent last reset (never as blatant as these two countries though).

ivan, this is a pretty lame attempt to avoid getting called into the bigger war.

drumming up issues with a clan who is only using landtrading as a way to teach members how to grab (without screwing up people's good countries or causing headaches) is pretty low.

I just think that land trading like this is crossing the line and pretty much ruins the game for every netter (not that im one or are trying to) but id say that its pretty disgusting

landtrading is OP atm... but no one good has abused it to get it nerfed yet :P

Interesting Ivan... so you've hit the 2 countries that are landtrading - not a problem
But then you have your clanmate hit you for the free land... I think that is ever so slightly different.

How can you out 2 countries (and their clans) when you have your own clan self-farming.

Perhaps there's a story to this but I can't see anything in the news such as you taking a retal from your clanmate.

Now which is worse, landtrading between clans or a clan self-farming to avoid losing land to retals?

Actually what #315 did was returning land that the suiciders in xMLx took so no its not called 2 stepping or anything else

#315 took retals on EVO and payed it back to the countries that got suicided and will pay more acers back to them

but id definately call what #565 and #216 is doing abuse and if its called learning how to grab when the break is like 30k PS id say that they should up the breaks a bit so they actually get to learn how to calculate a break

I'm only using oats as my example since the thread was started by sof. Every alliance has something a rather where they gain a step up on another alliance in one way shape or form

Doing the landtrading correctly is more challenging than getting an FA shipment each day. Or having a tech ally when you're not etching. Both those other cases are always done.

If they want to take the risk it soesnt hurt anyone else and it can do well but not a well as others.

Ie last reset the top trader had 220mil net but look at all the techers that broke 300mil net.

So while ita a good strategy it isn't the best. Just find a way to bring up your country is my view. Some will try for over all win, others for avg networth, others for who has the most spies or land. It's a game, have fun :)

It is the best strategy Mr.Silver, it's just people who doing it aren't the most competent ones yet.

We have a system in place that doesn't allow it to be as good as it could be. We can easily do better than we have.

It is the alliance server after all.. Primary and tourny are the servers where its 100% personal skill.

Wether its having tag protection, tech allies, aid, member quit, or whatever qe get help in alliance

Like Mr. Silver said we could call each alliance out for doing something that is "silly and abuse". As long as it's not breaking any rules there is nothing wrong. I wouldn't even consider it a moral issue either because it's not like they are doing it to take over the top 10 or win ANW, or anything for that matter. It's just a group of people trying to have some fun.

I'm not sure that the admin personally condone it, but that they have decided it is something that should be policed by the alliances on the server. If it does get abused, I would hope to see changes in the ghost acres formula (I personally would like to see that already for some instances).

I think it is perfectly fine to call an alliance out for actions you dislike and making threats is a long tradition of Ivan's so he would be remiss not to in such a case. In EE, you can control as much as the other alliances will allow you. If he can change the policy by threats and war, then that's just the game we play. Similarly, PDM fought to keep their retal policy. War drives policy.

normal landgrabbing is more beneficial then land trading if you can find targets to hit. there are huge downsides to land trading like the fact you need a ton of CS and you spend half your daily turns rebuilding CS. its not like its this hugely unfair tactic.
