everyone knows about casher, industrialist, farmer, oiler, and techer.

but did you know there's a sixth strategy? No! it's not buyer/reseller!

it's called the griefer strategy.

that's right! from now on, i will be trying the griefer strategy! it requires a different emotional and logical skillset, and it'll be new to me, so i'm gonna have fun!

I didn't know about oiler

I though it was best to go farmer/oiler and still be mostly farms because there is not enough demand for oil to support an entire nation

yeah, i agree, there is never enough demand in tourny to be a full oiler

i always see this massive stockpile of oil barrels that never get sold on the market at the end of the round. i always wonder who's producing all that

I am running tech, and selling it already Yes I have oil and farms, I stock pile oil and bushels. In tournament oil costs to much, and tech sell on all three servers.

You buy food with $ from selling tech. Expect to be doing this all set. The only buildings you need are X labs + 250 IC for spies. 240-280 CS. Nothing else. Tech and sell. Check back in a week.

All X Theo you don't need that many CS, 180 puts you @70bpt, that's good for all X techer IMO

Why do you not take advantage of the theo bonus and get 90 or 100 bpt or more? you could then spend a lot more turns exploring especially later in the game as compared to a 70 bpt

In my opinion the big advantage of theo is being able to get a higher bpt with the same number of cs as everyone else. For some reason people think they should just build less cs which is a waste of the theo build bonus.

Interesting, I would think in tournament your target would be at least 15-16.5k acres and I would want more than 70 bpt for that

You go for 180 cs for a bpt of 70 and I think last time I played theo I went for 252 cs for a bpt of 95

I think it's nice when you are 10k+ acres having that extra bpt because you have extra turns to tech with at high tech per turn as you build

there's actually a formula that determines optimal cs count in relation to total acres target, amount of turns per reset, average acres explored per turn

i have it somewhere in my big fat notebook, but i can't find it

Yeah, it's silly to be in first at this point

Anyone who is trying to be in first at the end is likely not in first at this point, because if you are first you are likely not stockpiling or storing any turns, and you are certainly running too much military and will have too high of expenses per turn
