Dicts and tyrs both have their own place. Dicts are obviously the better breakers, tyrs by far the better finishers. Probably about even for mid hitting. This is my opinion here, but with tyrs being the better finisher this is where I'd want my spies to be hitting. Yes, there are advantages to both, but you really want a good mix of the 2.

I'm not going to go back as far as TGA, but there was a set around the time council started where it was best to have an even number of tyrs and dicts. If you did it right you could basically kill a country with one of each, but the trick was to keep the tyr just barely in range. So even though it wasn't scary on its own, with the dict to bring the break down you would get huge returns once the tyr could start hitting, sometimes getting a kill before the 5 civ minimum. I'm pretty sure that only lasted one set, but the smaller country in this situation was definitely the scarier. Though it was best to keep the dict as small as possible too.

And as far as sanct goes, I never said they were good, just the only test I had last set. well, that and the random op to test things. And by random, I truly mean random, even spied some clan mates as determined by a number generator :)

i believe a summary would be the MD side is still ahead in kills while being 1050 hits behind

just think, all you had to do was wait 2 more days for a somewhat fair fight, but i guess i shouldn't antagonize considering i'm not there this set (as tempting as it is).

P.S. sorry I had a last second trip in RL which was part of the delay from the wednesday right before you guys pulled the fluff card ;)

seems to me i was breaking through those dicts in sanct with no trouble at all last set. soviet can confirm i was rocking about 3.3m spies on a 20k acre tyr with 140% tech.

how you run your country is just as important as government. crap countries are crap countries no matter how they should be better theoretically.

couple counter points.

first - the 7% is under optimal conditions of using less than 35% of your military.

second - utilizing tabbed browsing with prepared numbers such as a 25 turn explore, missile targets, etc. lets you regain your readiness just as fast.

third - +20% Attack Gains = less attacks needed to kill

I'm not saying tyrannies are the end all and be all of war, but saying that same thing about dicts is just being ignorant. Dicts are the best breakers, but other than that my personal preference is tyr.

yeah. it was fun only failing once every time i updated the entire sanct tag.

only thing you might have issues with is a dict spy with similar stats

tyrannies make good spies too, due to that extra turn needed to regain readiness. with 50 ops a day you can still make 30 attacks. I'd like to see any other government do that
