I'm pretty sure imag has been warring continously for over 5 years, except for one set where they didn't play. I think they saw it as a personal failure when they weren't tagkilled. IX totally owned the political arena for years on end.

Was a challenge for a while and I love the fact that I can finally get to bed at a reasonable time now for the first time in 3 weeks. Win/Lose/Draw I was looking forward to that as the exhaustion has set in.

Imagine doing this every set, sometimes oop or a few days into the set. This is why IX and SoL stand out as two of the greatest warring alliances in the game. I remember the epic coalition wars of 2005/6 which last 2 years without break. There were also a lot more players back then and at one point I was running 18 hour chats as an over-eager 16 year old, while being trained by Duque. I do admit though that the planning an intensity was not as hardcore as nowadays, but I still severly doubt that any alliance has come close to the hell-bent dedication the WoG/Rival warteam did in 2009. Our countries were always awful too, making the planning even more crucial. In the end being able to kill targets first time whether they walled or not and achieving a 95% walling rate saw us through most wars, the advantage of having people who have played for over 10 years.

I'd still wager a bet though that only SoF, SoL and iMag could maintain constant warfare at this level without losing their leadership and members and this is one reason why these three alliances should be up there at good war alliances.

Tech prices were low, but were still high enough to make more than a 15k Fasc farmer for most of the prepping time. Most of EMC went farmer too, which was terrible most of the war. It was only until bushel prices increased where the remaining production advantage took off and that was more down to total land rather than ave land.

We wanted a numbers disadvantage, because an even number war would have been horribly one-sided. The fact that we survived two weeks with an under-par peformance has amazed me.

I don't buy all this production thing, if we went half production and half what we did, the production people would have got killed or nuked fast first. If we did the so-called adaption we would been killed much faster imo. There is always a way to exploit the enemy, but we just left fewer exploitations than any other strategy would have. The only real thing I regret is us not switching to farmer 3-4 days earlier and getting everyone up to 12-13k acres with a mass explore.

If SoF stonewalled more things would have been different. The breakers that are scrwed up now are that way because all the other breakers died. Basically the more big guys around, the more the load can be shared. If EMC walled better this war would have been over sooner, so its swings and roundabouts. There was one point in the war where it looked like we could pull it off, but the virtually non-existant walling that weekend turned the war, but I wont criticise members for having busy real lifes.

EMC's production advantage was not as big as made out, because the people with high land were vulnerable to chem rushes and were nukable. After the first 72 hours a lot of EMC's high landers had been killed or nuked. There was an average land advantage, but while bushels were low and oil was high SoF's strategy came out on top. I do agree hitting the midbreakers worked out, for the reason you said, but I disagree with an earlier post where you said everyone playing same strat will roughly have the same stock. In fact, I saw cases where people had 50m more bushels than other people running the same strat, which goes to show how quality can have an effect. The fact that the midbreakers died without walling meant that breakers killed themselves.

The most decisive factor in this war has been numbers. The fact that EMC was more active than SoF and had 20+ extra members proved devastating. A thoroughly decent performance by SoF was able to delay this war becoming one sided for almost two weeks to their credit though. The fact that EMC was able to outkill SoF in the FS despite coming up against wallers and not walling themselves tells a story within itself. The real turning point came during the second weekend as EMC's activity was much better at weekends than weekdays. They were able to kill a lot of anz/aus at their American chats. From then on they have always had the advantage. The final blow came when food prices increased and oil plummeted, it meant that the slight land advantage + the numbers advantage that EMC did have became more effective.

EMC peformed very well, but I expected them to, they did what I thought they were capable of doing, while I think SoF underpeformed. We must have more real lifers than previously thought!

p.s. I was #19.

Tough talk doesn't have be tough, it is an expression.

Though it is tough for an alliance that took a year deliberating whether they should attack LaF then when they finally took the decission in favour, got pre-empted by them, then netted for another year. ;)

EMC members are more active and up for this war than SoF even if they were equal numbers tbh. Though, SoF would prob win on walling and other war related stuff if numbers were closer. Its not the end of the world though, now that stored turns have run out, the numbers advantage is marginally less of an issue, though the number of kills makes it an issue. That adds the factor of restart rate too I guess.

Meh, I wouldn't want it any other way, hard fought defeats teaches much about yourself.

Well, after the first few hours of the FS, both sides have not come across much resistance in terms of stonewalling. This is due to quality of target selcetion, fast hitting and lag. EMC didnt have the greatest of starts, allowing SoF to keep the kill count fairly even. However, its clear that EMC are actually more active at hitting than SoF is by %, so in reality it is SoF who needed the numbers advantage on this peformance. In the end I think the number of hits EMC puts out will be decisive, hence EMC will win. I'd say SoF actually has a stock/spal advantage, but EMC's strategy was to outproduce SoF, anticipating a long fought out war. I reckon an EMC win is inneviatable unless SoF becomes 100% active, (or someone smashes EMC's routers). The better SoF wall the longer the war will drag out. $0.02.

Due to the numbers advantage EMC can pretty much gain an unasailable advantage if they outkill good targets and outwall SoF in the FS. If SoF gain the advantage during the FS, it means the balance of the war may be decided in the next week of battle.

It should be blindly obvious to anyone that Dict is massively overpowered as a war goverment.

Recent event have led me to think that some kind of middle east/North Africa revolt scenerio could be introduced to cripple the country at times. Heck you could even impliment a whole hapiness scale into the game that can be influenced by gov/readiness/economy/military(too little or too much can hurt?), etc.... Just randomly ranting.

Warring SoL continously gets boring. Did it for 2 years straight while in IX, then suicided on them for half a year, then was in the anti-slit coalition. Now you want me to fight continous day 10 wars with them again...zzz.

I am pretty dissapointed at all of these accusations. The three players in the top 10 have contributed a lot of time and energy and not as some people believe received mass FA. It is no coincidence that those countries mentioned were tech allies + some leeches, though is that considered foul play too? Is farming a suicider a thin line too, or endorsing suiciders or dissatisfied alliance members to hurt openents?

I hate FAing + buyouts, it is an alliance game, but what makes it special is the individual as well as the team aspect. SoF is aiming to net as much as it wars nowadays. Obviously we have some talented and interested netgainers, but it is a steep learning curve atm as we'll be lucky to finnish in the top 5 ave nw. In the end we are a team and tnw/anw is what we'll be judged on and no amount of FA/buyout can change that.

If FA is to be published publicly, do it after the set. FAing a stonewaller is still a valid tactic and can buy vital seconds for someone to come online.

How would a fb ap work? Would be be a seperate server or would you be able to logon via fb and via the game site? I agree that it needs to be highly polished and not rushed too.

Flash... not sure about it, maybe open a flash server, unless it has a huge approval rating.

Recruiting old members, cool.

AI? Whats all this about.

What about language packs. don't think that would be too difficult. I know the Mars bunch would play if stuff was in Russian. In fact aim language packs at parts of the world which is starting to get basic internet + computers. Romanians and Indinesians seem to have been big players text-based games in the last few years. Why not target these guys and perhaps up and coming countries.

I'm sure they did, but as an alliance that prefers to war most sets, they probably weighed up their closest friends, who warred more often than netted. As far as I know the 3 remaining war tags are SoF, SoL and iMag. I'm not sure about their relationship with imag, but it takes a certain type of player to play in imag anyway. If they chose SoL it would be a similar situation, but they probably chose SoF, due to a closer history and number of ex-Rage players in SoF.

lol, keep this as the default, I like the simple feel, but some new kids might like alternatives.

Also unrelated, perhaps the admins could interview alliance leaders/notable players and post the interview on the forum every so often, dunno if you can link that with the patron ideas.

The bonuses have to be attractive to new players, and have a wow effect, while not alienating he older core and having some sort of unfair advantage.

Since I only play 1a, I'll post what I've liked:

Bonus Points are accumilated daily without having to click promotions.
Automatic Country restart after dying, with a preset name option in the old country.
Patrons only able to use vacation mode.
A bunch of insignificant stuff that will look cool to new people, like +50 acreas daily bonus, a bonus turn a day.

Patron Board is nice (maybe forum names in bold), The master conrol over all servers seem nice too. I think the biggest advantages should be on the solo servers as it is the far easiest server to attract new players, some good suggestes have been posted.

Maybe give the option to Patrons to have different forum skins and have a gold earth background instead of the current red.

I live in a country with true universal healthcare. The whole healthcare department is entirely funded by taxes, which means the highest earners contribute more. It isn't without it problems, they can't always afford the more expensive treatments that could be decisive and waiting lists can be long, but at least I have the knowledge that I wont be charged for a life saving operation.

In fact, as a self-funded student with no income I'm entitled to free prescriptions. When I'm earning moeny I'll be taxed and recontribuite to those who are in my situation. There is also the oppotunity to pay extra and go private if you are willing to spend extra.

When talking about Obamacare it is more similar to the system the Dutch use, which is pretty right wing. Hence, in reality Obama is trying to move the US from the extreme right to the right than any lurch to the left. It may be unconstituional, but to me it is odd that a set of ideas from 300 years ago, written by a bunch of British rebels should dictate the present and the future.
