You're missing one of the most important -- and in my opinion, the coolest -- aspects of the system! When a missile is fired, it's trajectory is calculated and the system figures out if it's heading toward a populated area. If it's not headed toward a populated area, it just lets it land. If it's going to hit a populated area, it fires an interceptor.=PANG
That is just amazing to me. There was a clip around that showed the hits and then they tracked a missile that was let go to land in an empty field. Absolutely amazing technology to me.
Course there is always an issue with the 10% that slip past but thats better then letting 100% past
