Marriage is only a religious institution for certain religions. Some regions (some of the major ones, when it comes to populations practicing them) see marriage as a completely civil institution.
So making the blanket generalization that marriage is a religion institution is severely bias.
I can't recall LaF ever acting the way Silent Sentinel is describing, but he can think what he likes.
As for continuing to hit Rage. They approached us about a ceasefire and after I agreed to one they decided they didn't want one anymore. That was a while ago.
If you are going to talk about Monks and the club being amoung the all time great netgaining alliances, then you need to talk about other first. Avengers, Star League, and probably others I can't think of right now would have to come higher on the list.
We have always maintained that any policy we enforce on others, we accept being enforced on us as well.
These alliances like Rogue, PDM or whoever, may have had justification to kill countries, but they didn't. They made no attempt to kill these countries, and no attempt to threaten to kill them for leverage.
Yet they come here and complain that LaF enforces 1-way policies, which is blatently false.
tags with 20 - 30 people shouldn't' be relying on only one or 2 countries to retal for them anyway. If they are that is a systemic problem with their own alliance organization and not a valid reason to keep retal windows so long.
Too many people have some kind of sense of entitlement when it comes to land. If you can't muster a retal then you lose the land. If you don't like it then work to improve your countries so that you can retal successfully. It is that simple really.

Starting now LaF will be operating on 48 hour retal windows, instead of the 72 hours we are all used to.
The rationale:
72 hours is a very archaic standard that was based on a server where you only obtained a turn every 40 minutes. In the current state of the game we gain turns twice as quickly. As such LaF feels that 72 hours is simply too many turns to prep for a retal.
There was some breif talk about evacuation, but given that we are already "working from home" tomorrow and Friday due to G20, I guess they didnt' want to cut into the work time any more.
