Im glad qzjul made those changes even with the crazy RD stuff going on. The espionage fix is pretty imperfect though. It means that going corruption bonus is still pointless, but if you're not stocking $$ you can sell 100% of your spies when you're done attacking. So, I hope they go for a purer fix by next reset

I read 'espionage' as meaning 'offensive spy ops' instead of 'steal tech'. -.-

I'm a little less pleased with these changes, but at least they're in and it's a start. Will at least stop the random tech stealing, and running 50 tech stealing ops as a 'retal'.

Ideally imo people would still be able to steal from you, but it would actually be possible to stop. Like you could run a nice SPAL and make it not worth their while to target you and send them off to thieve elsewhere. At least that's what I think is the best possible solution.

Agree with blid, ppl should still be able to do some ops on ppl (including steal tech), but just have a way to prevent a guy w/ super low land but high spies from overpowering a huge country w/ a good spal.. maybe square root SPAL to calculate chance of catching so a 25 SPAL vs 100 SPAL has a 50% chance of catching or something more clever.

I just had to look In hear and say hi. Also stats wise looks like a farmer set. Bushels will go high look at the make-up of the server.

Ok, farmer fascist or tyrant. Tyrant is pretty cool, having the ability to run through 80 turns of mayhem is pretty cool. On the other hand, being able to farm for basic cash and play with a little oil on the side sounds interesting also.

I already named my country so it be all explore with the only military strikes being retals. If not I might consider dictator for top feeding. (And general hate and discontent)

So hard to decide.

Of course, because last set had 60 days to sign up and this set we're only 10 days in or so. Lots more people will sign up late. Monarchy percentage goes up most of all from all the new sign ups and quits.
