hi. Not sure if there's any tech start commies that will be surging soon, but looks right now like two commies are standing far out from the rest. I hope there's not a commie shortage!

This is my fourth set in a row now, but I still can't keep up with the insane amounts of land grabbed by the top-land people.

I'm running a theo techer, one of the highest ranked theos right now. But I just came out of retirement and haven't played techer in years. I've made quite a few mistakes so a well run techer should be able to comfortably be top 10 right now I think.
Is techer a good strat for this server though? Commie indy seems well suited for this server as there's plenty of land.

As a commie I would be a lot closer to the two guys at the top but still, it would be really hard. I respect their skill.

playing techer is a gamble in primary. You seem to have won the bet this set with the tech prices being >$2500 at this point of the game.

It has been <$2000 at this point for the past few sets.

Not true, prices were similar at this point last set but then dropped over the next 5 days. And two sets ago tech prices stayed over 2k until day 35. It remains to be seen how good a techer set this will be.

Also, theo techers can obviously start a lot faster than other gov types, like Demo or even... Tyrant?

Maybe this converting mid tech start from rep to Commie was worth it. Im far behind now in terms off everything but with prices for military on the rise I'm sure ill make fast ground to the top.

Oneman also you need a lot of Commies to support the amount of military being purchased. And yes the top 9 are current commies but I can't see it staying this way for long. Lots of tech starts have only been grabbing for 5,6 days an will be making some jumps within the next 5-8 days up high.

Also I see perhaps a war brewing up between 2 bigger commies.

Rockman I'm a Indy tech start and I have around 110k Indy tech. But I also had no tech allies in my phase and converted from rep to commie. So I'm sure mine are lower then other tech starts. That may help not sure

Yeah, that does help. I'm around 125k indy tech, with like 5k weapons tech, too. I figured that I had caught up to the tech starts in Indy tech. I was going to be worried if they were already at like 150k indy tech and 50k weapons tech or something.

Yeah, I hate these tech prices, though. I don't think I've gotten any for under $2800 (except for the weapons tech I bought yesterday after I bought indy tech out to 3800).

Iunno if this is really two commies pulling away. I'm logging in to a lower rank now then a week ago. If anything what we're seeing is the tech start players are starting to move up in the ranks.

Personally, I can't believe how civilized everything is. I had totally expected to be in an AB slugfest with someone at this point.

We're at the 1000 turns mark, so anything above 14-15k acres should be decent. At this stage, you should probably be done with your CS building too. As for bus/res tech, anything above 160% is good. Would even be better if you have weapon and mil strat. With that said, I don't recall my stats at this point last set lol. So, everything is just an intuitive estimate.

What prices kept you from switching... these aren't unusual tech prices or anything. When I did a demo farmer w/ tech start I switched without even selling any tech, I'm not sure what you're waiting for. Time to make up your mind if you wanna be a techer or a farmer. There's nothing in the market to tell you which one will be better this set at this point. You just have to choose one.

Tech levels are good over 160
Got milstrat and weapons too at decent levels
Only prob is im behind in land by around 2k from what you said. Time to go aggressive
