Dragon lost power due to weather in his area (snow/ice and wind), and as such, both services are going to be down for a little while.

Pacific Northwest got hammered too, I'm just south of the ice storm so I got lucky, from Salem Or to the north is a disastrous situation with winds picking up overnight knocking down trees all over to create power outages, looks like it'll be like that all weekend, stay safe those who live up there!

We are measuring a foot of snow at our place here in Vancouver, some of that is ice. Such great fun. /sarcasm

Around this time of the year I keep the tailgate generator fueled and close by for fridge, TV, cable/internet, laptop, and cell phone charger. I only have to unplug the TV or fridge to make coffee, which is absolutely necessary daily for me. But outage is rare - barely once a year.

Power is out for a lot of the Portland, OR area. No eta on ghqnet or irc downtime for now. I live in an area that usually gets power restored quickly but there are too many things down.

I was in Portland this morning, unplawed pavement had and inch of snow and on top of that two and a half inches of solid ice, it was nasty trying to back my trailer into a tight dock with that crap on the ground SMH.

I lost power/heat/most water pressure for 24 hours in the Texas cold yesterday (it hit 11 Monday night and has been 35 or below since Sunday night). Power/heat/internet are back, but water pressure is still sucko, just enough for a toilet to flush and refill in about a minute, so showers are out...I must smell awesome!

Even cell data service outside of calls and the occasional text message are down across most of the city.
