Decided to take the high road to win 3 in a row. After thinking about the situation it was clear that opp was looking to war with tanks and troops in hand already. Lack of oil made the decision easier too. LT i will KR on RoRs. Such a douchy play.

I noticed after bulking up and getting outside range late game humanitarian rules, astral took another hit from the same guy. Guess ill have to load up on warfare to deter the low EV play

I totally botched my country this set, should have finished in 5th place instead of 6th, but I'm still happy with the finish.

Earlier on looking to land grab bots, i saw your country... thought no bots dont get named with sexual words lol and moved on. A spy op would have given the truth too but no need to waste a turn.

I wish i went to 40k and stocked up. Would have avoided the douchebag and prob finished 51-55m nw. Never seen a player take a shot with someone with 15-20m turrets with 120-130% weapons tech. Requires 10-15m jets PS and the oil gets a tad too pricey at that point to be worthwhile especially if opp has 300 turns in the hole pumping 150k a turn military to guarantee a retal.

I saw a guy 20-30 sets ago constantly Build to 40k then stockpile to a win and i now know why. Mitigate the risk and the cost of building and tech costs get pricey after 40k. Its proven that a commy indy getting to 40k @ 1300 turns fully built can have a result of 55-60m nw if prices are decent and cheaper tech is there to grab on Saturday-Sunday. I also know that the perfect game is getting to 50k before turn 1450 fully built and getting tech pumped up before the stockpile phase. Love to see a CI get over 60m nw in a set

Well, I was hoping to contest you more (looks like I've been second for quite a few sets now).. but I got into a little bit of a small fight myself. Lobbed a buncha missiles back and forth, had to stonewall a GS KR on me (he gave up) in the middle of the set. By the time I recovered I missed out the higher tech prices earlier in the set.

Either way, congrats on the win!

I hate those situations. Have to weigh the benefit of fighting back or letting it go. Thanks man. I know the feeling of being the bridesmaid not the bride. Lol

.. so this set I was actually on track to get to 18-20k fully built by turn 500-600 on a techer. Had actually grabbed to 13k with 180CS at turn 400 before the small fight.

I play all explore so I'm glad you moved on. This set was a little better in terms of not getting hit as much, but someone nailed me a little bit towards the end before I got to run turns today, and of course when I looked at their country they were dead. Seems some people are just looking to spoil someone else's efforts, which looks like what happened to you.

The tech market can be extremely hit and miss, this set ended up being pretty decent. Oil was actually fairly abundant this set, which probably helped fuel attacks on actual players.

You seem to have a good thing going with the CI strats.

I'm also surprised I edged out Snapples by 40k nw. lol

I'm steadily refining my strategy, looking at 25 million next set if things go right.

Strangely enough, I didn't manage to find oil at all this set (everytime I logged in it was empty), so ended up having to build some oil rigs to fund the attacks. I also probably caused the tech market crash cos I was desperate to sell tech after stonewalling. lol

hmmm, 5th place. I think I jump too early. OK, new strat next set.

Reminds me of that time I took the land record with a Democracy. Tech was quite low that set so I had like 145% weapons tech and 27m turrets to defend all that land(was just a little more than you had). But clintonista was mad I took his unimpressive land record so he destocked on jets and hit me and claimed underdefended lol. :)

Land record went between us for a while like this: he beat my land record after a long while then I took it back the set after, rinse repeat. The last time I farmed like crazy on bots and players alike, but I ended up farming clintonista as well. and he was mad. I got past 80k acres and he decided to hit me, but the humanitarians kept creeping up on him and in the end he couldnt hit me because of them lol. I only cared about the land record because he thought it was so special and I loved to beat him at his own game lol. He used to say before that, that land record was harder than NW record. But how that works out when he literally competed with NO ONE for the land record til I snatched it from him in 1 try? Well he never answered that. :)
