It seems like at least once a set EE IRC goes down now

We clearly are not paying for uptime

Any update??

False. 80% of the communication between mars and myself is done via SwitchZoo.

there could be an extra server hosted somewhere else connected to the network

but then youd have to know which server to connect to anyway

including the market and news bots

very few earthers are same/near timezone i live so realtime chat isn't option.

there is backup server irc.evolution2025.com but that works apparently only with irc-client (evo had to reject few apps after some tried to get to "evo-irc" via browser).

qz etc didn't see need for multiple irc-servers.

theres a fairly significant downside to multiple irc servers with server splits too

when you can only talk to people on your actual server not the whole network

so that can be a bigger issue than downtime too

Thats BS... first off I am almost in the same time zone as you are, I think 1 hour off, same for gains. Makinso when he lead sol was 2 hours off from yours I think.

Secondly, you are active for a long time posting on this forum every day. At least half of all earthers and indeed nearly all leaders and FAs could talk with you at times that are not inconvienient for either you or them.

partially yes but still majority of earthers are different tz than me.

as for FA contacts forum pm works best.

as for being at EE-irc I can't atm since I have minor probs with it and apparently all who can solve those have vanished from the surface of the planet.
