Yeah, the marginal income tax for high earners comes up to that depending on where you live. It can vary between like 53-59% I think, where I live it goes to 57.38% if I was in that income bracket. That is the tax rate that we see as emplyees. But a hidden tax on employers of around 30% has already been taken on our salary before that tax is applied. So the total tax rate on lets say 1000 kronor from our employer to our bank account can be as high as ~71% which is absolutely retarded and on the wrong end of the Laffer curve(not to be confused with the LaFer curve, which has nothing to do with this and is a secret within the upper echelons of LaF leadership).

You probably do/did that as well tho.

Remember we are talking about the highest bracket of marginal income tax. I have usually payed around 22-25% tax on my total income, with a 32% or sometimes ~52% marginal tax.

I'm a subcontractor, luckily for me there aren't hidden taxes, it's whatever percentage both State and Fed takes and is below 30%, I don't know the exact number since I have the tax people do that and then I just write the checks ;-)
