drives me nuts how people keep undercutting the price.. if it goes to 59 why doesn't every farmer just sell at 59.. just watched the price go from 59 to 45 to 42 to 39.. why undercut asking price by so much?

Farmers unite!

If we only offer bushels for $59, then bushels will be $59. We must fight back against those lazy and fat theocrats, monarchs and republicans who just take advantage of us.

Because nobody is going to buy at $59. If they are., then they're stupid.

$45 is reasonable.. You'd be crazy to spend a turn to drop food at $58.
Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.

Why would you ever play farmer on EXPRESS., is beyond me.

You would basically need a friend buying and recycling all the food to even give yourself a chance with the other strategies.

Bots sell at ×/- 20%. So it is realistic that the price could drop from 59 to 48 in one sale. If it is slow, another bot could drop further to 40. A human sees that and dumps a load of bushels at 42. I dont see why tech should be down at $1900 but there are sets where Im selling at that on day 2 just to get $$$.

It is supply and demand - if prices spike then wsit a few hours and it should drop.

Some one said by lowering the price of food it sells faster, Same goes for oil , notice the price fluctuate during the set. I am banking my oil, I can sell it @ $60, any time ! the price on the market at the time posed this it was @$99. can't tell me somebody not under cutting the price. Good tactic.

If you would play a specislised strat as opposed the fluffy POS rainbow you might realise that producing oil to sell at $60 on the PM is plain stupid...... compare that to tech prices at $2500 per point.

Oil production = 2 barrels per turn
@$60 per barrel = $120 per acre per turn

Tech = 1/3 point per turn
@2500 = $833 per acre per turn

Specialised strats have been explained many times to you..... I suppose you cant fix stupid.

It might sell to you faster in the short term undercutting prices, but over the course of multiple days, the demand for bushels is defined. People aren’t going to change their strat this reset if food is $59 rather than $34.

Yeah they do...... depending on the strat you can hold turns quite easily. That drops demand which in turn means that prices will fall. It is simple economics - by manipulating when you play, you can influence the demand for a certain product.

Another thing is bot distribution. If you get more casher bots than normal then demand for food will change. The number of farmer bots will have an impact on supply. The strat is based on the countrugh number, so there is not alwsys an even distribution through the strats.

The demand for bushels has a vague definition but cannot be classed as defined. It depends on strat makeup, playing styles, number of kills/deletions/suiciders. If finishing nws are low it would indicate a smaller demand for business throughout the set as fewer bushels will be stocked.

The whole 'everyone just sell higher' has been tried for years and guess what..... it is rubbish. Supply and demsnd always governs price.

The final fact remains farmer require the most land to be competitive., because they make the least about of $ per acre.

Not saying selling $60 oil makes sense but oil produces every turn whereas tech does not so you need to account for that, makes oil somewhat more profitable than in the above calculation.

There's a huge difference.

Tech sells,. oil does not. 1 pure oiler could supply the entire server.

This. I made the mistake to try Oiling this set.

I have so many banked turns right now it hurts. I can't justify taking any of them at these prices/demands.

I tried to help- I bought all the oil priced at $100 or below for two days. Sold half at 150 and half at 120. Price is still in the gutter

The only reason food even goes up is of a democracy pushes it up. If all the farmers collude and set a price that is above $35 then it will just sit in a big glut and stagnate until a demo Comes along and shifts it... or countries are making too much and need to sink some cash into food to not go over $2bil I was nice to you and just pushed it up to $69

But if you undercut it will just get stuck and fall back to 30 something ;)
