Military prices have been high all set and they won't get cheaper when the bots get suspended and stop putting cheap units on the market. I suspect dry public market very soon and then you'll have to buy my turrets at $359 in the last minute again! :P

Jumping early was very successful last reset for me. This reset I failed completely but also I didn't really try. So if you make a good jump the number 1 spot might be yours! Take advantage of those units that offer good NW/$ still!

Dont believe Gerdler he is just trying to flip from his big public market. Prices have nowhere to go but down wait it out for cheap goods

It just depends on what I can get oil at. If it's cheap I'll do it, otherwise I just stock bushels and use the regular PM and Public.

I've had varying degrees of "success". Keep in mind my best finish is only 2nd, so a few 4th finishes using this method isn't all that bad (for me).

I have only done it twice in express. With 3rd and 4th place finishes. Like you said Kingme, it is hard to get enough cheap oil. I have only tried it with techer also. Every time i attempt it with a fascist i end up warring lol!

At least if you need to buy the oil. The express oil market is very small and even if you manage to buy that oil without creating a rising price you are not getting a very powerful jump from it.

The oil is not spent on NW so while you think you are spending your stock to get 11m NW/2b you are actually getting quite a lot less than a regular theo jump would. The advantage is only that you get to spend all your turns in a productive manner up until the jump which is not a very significant advantage when the tech market has crashed. It took me about 3.5 hours to fumble my way through my destock. Yours would have taken longer since you stocked quite a lot earlier, maybe 6 hours, which is fine, those last hours are not all that productive either way when we are selling tech at 1000-1300.

Every other set or so there is a Fascist going full oiler and if no one is stocking oil he will either crash the oil market or be forced to sell like 50-80% of his oil on the private market for 60ish :P

If you would have stocked for a longer time or if you were not forced to go through the market it could be very good.

I had over 17m barrels all bought under $150
I had to buyout my PM before I even started to use those 17m barrels and drop land.

I hate the thought of jumping off the public with the prices last set. I find it hard to believe that was the better way to jump.

with that said... I've never finished in 1st multiple times in a row with a 70m+ finish, so I should probably shut up and listen.

the only thing I bought on the public on the last 7 hours was like 500k NW of troops. Rest was private market, I had calculated so I would be able to spend all my cash with like 1 hour to spare and then to do some reselling. But my country had daylight savings time so I thought the set would end the same time my time but it was one hour later lol.

Also I suck at reselling, otherwise blid would no longer be number 1. :/

Even if I was only not unlucky with my last batch of military tech comming to the market 5 minutes after game time that would have pushed me above blid. 150k tech that never reached. 141m cash which I would get like 300k NW for after accounting for the tech NW.

On my NW record I jumped off public market for like 80% of my stock, and last reset I jump of private, because; big fat theo.

its a risk to reward play, say you see oil for 100$ and you buy 20m barrels thinking hell yeah gonna get nice jump at end then when you goto jump there is goods on market with an avg of 275-300$/nw, well that oil is costing you end nw now. but then you goto jump and the public is empty or the avg is 400$/nw then that oil is making you laugh to the bank.

I might add that when I was destocking with my demo I was actually planning to do it mostly from the private market, but the public market kept giving me cheaper stuff when I jumped so early.

So right now there are tanks for 341 on the public market, if you know you will miss destocking on Sunday you might just as well buy them. Thats 11.73 m NW/$2B cash which is around maxed mil tech full TMBR-territory!

Only problem is that if you take 1700 turns with them they will cost you quite a lot. :(

not to mention there isn't enough of them to make a difference.
