Trying to drive a point home with founders about how unwilling US citizens will be to let the government and or advertisers to use the data to learn about them and use. The data to target advertisers.

that was no short survey; short survey is 3 questions with one line questions.

also, some missing conjunctions maybe, commas, and other stuff are missing from your questions.

other than that, THATS ONE SCARY SURVEY. Knowing the potential of what other information might be extracted besides the make, model, and type of appliance/device i have and being shared with outside parties is worrisome. my wife can't find out about the asian porn.

You are getting a somewhat bias sample here, don't forget that.

I am more than willing to let them collect it for some purposes. Targeted advertising or selling my data to advertisers is definitely not one of them.

How comfortable are you with receiving energy saving tips based on data collected about your energy consumption? N/A, I would simply disregard it along with all the other junk mail. So feeling comfortable is N/A.

Would you like to be able to receive maintenance notices for your appliances based on your energy consumption (i.e. your fridge is running inefficiently, time to get it serviced)? No*

*Since that is a yes/no question, kinda surprised neither of those were options as answers.

Done, If I was gonna get data on usage, It better be just a monthly report, no one wants SPAM, and the gov't would get the data if they really wanted it anyway, (ie. the grow houses they Identify by usage)

I don't really mind the data being collected mainly because I assume it already is. Every time I receive a piece of junk mail, I assume it was because of some kernel of data that someone collected from something I did.
