its extra cash early and as non-casher start it takes awhile before tax income funds more than 3 buildings.

Set your tax rate to at the point where you build exactly 40 citizens but just below the level where you only make 39 citizens, if you are a rep casher. The first turn, at 120 acres, is around 28% building 5 res.

if you are not close to max pop you can manipulate your tax rates but finding the right balance is proper as if you do it wrong it can negatively effect you for a couple turns as the population returns, best time for 70% is during pci booms from bonus points, find your own value though per turn these are closely held secrets :P

Best tax rate is dependant on food cost. I made a thread some time ago that shows the exact math of it all.

36% is best when food is under $47, but the difference is so small, that it doesn't really matter.

some non-cashers have run with 40% if bushels price was high but since nowadays production is tied to population that might not be useful anymore.
