why do people join GDI and then double tap?

Whats the point of joining GDI and then double tap countries on a regular basis?

Kinda defeats the point.

I guess it shields you from everyone else and only opens you to retal from specific people who you picked on. If that's the case, why pay the extra money for GDI? Just go without, save the money and hope nobody randomly hits you.

You can get free GDI with two days worth of bonus points, it's about all they're good for on this server.

yep and even without free gdi what is a few dollars an acres absolutely nothing lol

and exactly as marshal points out protects you from someone just suiciding on you at whim.

Yeah that's good for GDI. But why GDI and then go out and double tap people and break GDI?

You still open up to someone messing you up. Although the numbers are much more limited to only people you double tap. And if they retal with AB or something then its no different to some guy ABing you randomly. Might as well go without GDI then.

its all about risk assessment, lets say you get a spy op and see the person you are about to double up on has same amount of turns played as you but a weaker economy or military force the risk is very minimal especially if you are able to outrun them

cronie: land isn't exactly big commodity around this part of neighborhood so sometimes needs to break gdi against some countries to get good results.

sometimes it backfires and sometimes not.

Some people play just to suicide on other countries. If you don't join GDI and are doing well, 90% of the time some rando decides to missile dump or AB you. You can join GDI and as h2o says, selectively choose who you want to double tap, focusing on bots or people that won't fight back

they take risk to get attacked with missiles etc sooner or later to get land to get chance to be #1.

They're exploiting GDI for its benefits, strategic but you're right it defeats the purpose
