Anyone experimented with it on express? Is it any good?

I tried once when warring. I used like 18 points on luck and saw no real benefit.

I suppose you might get a few more positive events and a few less eartquakes and other adverse events; and maybe one or two less random fails/low returns when ABing or gsing; and perhaps you could get away with allowing less than the full ten percent for Mehul.

If that is all, it wouldn't be worth it.

And very hard to evaluate. How do you know when an adverse random event hasn't happened?

There arnt enough bonus points to make any of the long term bonuses worth it on this server.

The luck bonus shifts the gussian curve relating to random events. You will get more missiles, more land in exploring, more booms, less shortages, and less earthquakes.

So, at the risk of sounding stupid, wtf is a Gussian curve? Without googling now.

My understanding is that luck can be useful if you are all-x or exploring a whole lot, since you will get more acres on average. For some reason I seem to remember someone breaking an all-x total acre record by maxing luck with a republic.

It's the redneck version of a Gaussian curve.

lol, it just shifts the normal probability curve in your favor. nothing that fancy. probably should have been more clear.
