earth 1.0: '96-'99 (early golden days)
earth 2.0: '00-'04 (true peak of earth)
earth 3.0: (dark era 1) - '05-'09
earth 4.0: (dark era 2 , but a distinctly different one than 3.0) '10-'11
earth 5.0: (first resurgence, LOTS of old names came back and a lot of the great political rivalries were back on full display) '12-'13
earth 6.0: '14-now (dark era 3 - deep plunge back into a dark era. lots of old and respected names are gone. 7th-9th tier nubs abound. several alliances have half to a third of the membership they did in 5.0)

we will get through this. looking forward to greener pastures in earth 7.0 which I anticipate to arrive in late '15/early '16

Interesting view Vic. I gotta admit I miss some of my old buddies. A lot of them have passed on, Santa Claws for example. They were mostly older players who stumbled upon the game and decided to hang around.

Some of my favorites that are no longer around are Santa, of course, Mello, Sutler, JJ, Gilbert, Cyberia, Morgoth and more that I don't have time to list right now.

rattlehead - brink, helmet, sean and hao2 were all around last I played just over a year ago. (and ronnie btw, which was hilarious) (which is why, once again, the period of '12-'13 was certainly one of resurgence and unexpected prominence for EE)
brink was much less playing but certainly on RD site, and the others all played countries somewhere.
in fact, we even brought hao to RD for a few sets which was cool but we got into war and he died :/

hao2 is the greatest player ever

lol, i should have prefaced it by saying i am very appreciative for what pang and qz do and I in no way attribute this current dark era to them. (it is a dark era, don't doubt it).
i am however saying that all the major alliances' #s have been slashed in half or more (in less than a year), and lots of prominent players have left the game, and TAN is back (that is a dark era by itself) and thus we are indeed in a dark era. but again, we'll get out of it, and again, thanks pang and qz.
