A very tough set indeed, I thought. Too tough for me. But these guys and gals came through with credit!

I thought YO AH YO would be a runaway winner for a long time - until he ran into a little local difficulty. As it is, amazing that he hung on to second. A good stocker as well as a very impressive land grabber.

Congratulations to the winner. Got up with the leaders and stayed there. Avoided too many problems and must have stocked pretty well as a Commie - something I have no idea how to do. But this guy does.

Nice mix of strats represented.

If i didnt have a staff party on friday night and got wasted... would have been at land goal by sat morning and stockpiled / stonewalled any retals.. and would have been in comp for 1st... at least would have been $26-27m NW 100%

4th is decent considering i half arsed the set

gg to top 3 who out netted me

and PS.. sorry to all that i bought out all the cheap food at $35-40 and jumped the market to $69 so i had my stockpile of food to run my turns lol

Netsquash, I was trying a farmer set, and didnt get to finish playing today so not sure how market ended. Prices were sucking. Did you raise the prices this afternoon, or are you referring to the first day or two when prices were higher?

I bought like 10m bushels at $60. 40m bushels at $48, and 50m bushels at $45, hoping to get better returns but in the end I sold all of them for $36.

Plus, I got nuclear missiled from 16k acres to 4k. LOL.

Great recap, Furious. I, too, have no idea how to stock as commie. I think the wiki says C/I is a low difficulty strat, but I never have learned how one can sell enough military to have money to play turns, buy tech, AND stock, yet also be able to grow country.

Every time I have tried it, I am always land fat and only have a couple million net. It seems I sell max military to reduce expenses and be able to play turns, and when done with turns, I'm back to where I was before I sold. Probably an acres quantity for me....seems to be my trouble with all strats I play.

Congratulations to the winner and top 10.

2 ways to play the CI to the maximum potential.... my way and the winners way

Winners way involves more intense land grabbing and some risky double/triple tapping due to shortage of good targets. Mine focuses on tech and effective land grabbing techniques to get maximum land for every hit and therefore allows me to avoid bad grabs way more often. Fairly certain i spied on like 5-7 targets and didn't bother grabbing due to their stockpile/turns on hand. If i got caught spying on your country and didnt hit you, it was not a fluke lol

Anyhow yeah SW... i saw you were MIA and waited until the last possible min late morning sunday to give you the benefit of the doubt, but still MIA and helped myself to a much needed final 500 acres to make my jump for stockpiling :)

Epic momment of the set:

2014-12-07 14:19:48 SS Enterprise NCC1701F (#62) com2 (#31) 1A (10A)

Netgain and get a kill .... lol... loved seeing

Enterprise NCC1701F (#62)
Communism
Rank: 4
Networth: $23,058,999
Land: 19,283 acres
KILLS: 1
GDI

Who reduces their land to 1 acre for better SPAL and tech %'s LoL... xmas present there hehe

Really fun and interesting set. Not only were bushel prices nuts but tech seemed to crash and spike quite a bit too.

I'm pretty happy with my first set back. Always room to improve though, right?

Any all-xers make top ten, or was I the top all xer?

Bushel prices were low almost entire set- only during last 4-5 hrs did the price spike. And I don't know how anyone got stuck with the $60+ bushels during last 4-5 hrs because someone unloaded 75 mil bushels at $36.

I'm not sure where you get the idea of stocking as a CI. You never stock as a CI. The idea is to dump as much $$ into tech in the early-mid stages whilst keeping reasonable defense. It's a balancing act between how much military you sell, and in turn how much you put into tech until it is maxed. The more you can get away with selling more military, the better your end game will be.

Celphi I dumped 25m food at 39 and 80m food at 36.

From playing turns. CI's don't "jump."

There are ways to maximise your final NW; whether it be tech dumping, liquidating a large portion of your military to play your final turns.

The "jump" you may have seen me do was just because i had dumped 13m turrets @ $174, played my remaining 140 turns or so and purchased troops/tanks off my private market.

Thanks currydubs. In the, fairly unlikely, event that I ever try Commie Indy that has given me at least a small amount of insight.
