I was reading a FAQ, and was wondering if this bit is true?
"old DOS programs won't be able to contaminate your system"

quite true since dos programs quite likely won't run on modern os's at all especially in x64 enviroment.

most likely to get contaminated by the freeware that will let you run your old dos programs.

dosbox or freedos don't contain malware if downloaded from official site.

@Marshal. Thanks. I run a x32 machine, and of course to run the games, I use DosBox. I was curious to know concerning the DOS games, as I read a FAQ on a site which I have not used before. Usually I use Abandonia or Abandonia Reloaded. I was looking for a game which neither of those sites (which being run by the same people) did not have, so I checked out "myabandonware".

@GHD, lol, like Marshal said. I use DosBox, which is potentially the most well known DOS run program. I trust it more than any DOS program that could exist, and every single abandonware website recommends that program. I've been running DOS games for a decade or so. DosBox is awesome :)

no reason why it wouldn't run in dosbox, 32bit windows os might run it w/o dosbox.

lol. Good point, good point.

As for Duke Nukem itself, they have it on Steam lol. I got it free with buying Shadow Warrior (the original one for DOS). Haven't played either yet though. No time, as I'm playing Rome II for now.
