This game is full of noobs to gaming and gaming vets, its a fertile recruiting ground for earth empires.
Here's my assessment,
I began July 12, and before I left protection on day 3 I was able to build my "clan castle" and join the alliance.
I'm 6 weeks in, and I'm working on my level 7 TH with my defenses and research nearly finished. At this point advancement will slow down.
Getting Resources, Coc is similar in that it takes resources to grow, but in the game you get your income from gold mines or elixir buildings that harvest the resource, or you "raid for it"
When you raid someone you only get a portion of their resources, based on how well you attack them.
When you are raided, you only lose a portion of your resources, and if you lose over 40% of your buildings, you get a shield, none of your buildings come back weaker, and you can not be killed.
Clan wars,
Clan wars are setup in 10 vs 10 up to 50 vs 50 format.
You get a star for knocking down 50% of the buildings, a star for knocking out the TH, and 3 stars would be knocking down every buildings, within the 3 minute time limit.
So in a 10 vs 10, 30 stars is the max your alliance can get, the alliance with the most stars wins. And gets a winners bonus of resources to distribute to members.
Wars last 24 hrs, (following a 24 hr prep period.)
You get 2 attacks per war. So 6 minutes of attacking.
You can war twice a week.
All wars are setup by a matching algorithm.
PDm is 5-2, we've won all wars 15 members and under. and lost everytime we've gone over 15. We're currently fighting an alliance that has 21 war wins. We are drawing earth vets, and CoC noobs, that have high potential as gamers.
I really think that over time earth vets could establish a major fighting alliance, that would cause recognition of our skills, and people would look at our game, already the newer players talk about PDM's team working, and troop donation far exceeding anything they've experienced yet.
That being said PDM has a LONG way to go, as we're going to need a year or so to get our bases strong enough to compete against the best. Especially since we don't pay for gems.
As far as that goes, yes people can pay for shortcuts in building etc....but the gameplay is excellent without having to pay. And since the game doesn't reset over time you can climb the ranks without them:)
If you do play, DON"T spend gems, save them for builder huts (IE construction sites)
We have members of multiple alliances already, we have noobs from austrailia, england, us, and other places.
I'm having a blast, Come and join me and make new friends:)
