You are a fluffing idiot. You arnt half as smart as you think you are, and you need to join a clan. I figure that won't work though because you will probably ignore the people trying to help you there too.

fluffing read and comprehend the fluff people are saying dumbass.

And if you try to brag about being able to jump to #1 within the first week in FFA again, a fact that matters less than what justin beiber had for lunch yesterday, then I'm liable to just find and kill that country so maybe you will come to a different conclusion. I'm out of ideas on how to get to you. You simply arnt listening to people who know more than you. Unless you think yourself smart enough to roll in here and develop a strat we didn't come up with in the last decade. I assure you you arnt.

It's just a game dude, relax. I could care less if you killed all my countries. Nor am I bragging. I'm merely citing my ability to jump to #1 as evidence that I understand the pros/cons of stocking at a lower networth; furthermore, I cited my #1 country in tourney as evidence that I understand the pros/cons of riding the top 10.

You're interpreting that I'm not listening. To the contrary! If I wasn't listening I would completely ignore their post; but, if you notice, I address the major flaws in what they are trying to explain to me. My whole argument states that commie has better netting & war capability. It seems some people jump in and throw their 2 cents in without reading the whole thread. The last person offered a scenario that I can't agree or disagree with because I haven't tried it yet, but with a dictator farmer, you can't start a scenario with two govts with exact same stats because a commie will get there faster. So though I understand what he says is true, (that if both had same stats dictator has the advantage), my argument is that if they both started from zero and had to build up a certain point (whatever point that may be) with equal turns for both govt, (if you include tech then you must consider that the farm money you use for buying a military will go towards tech instead) thus giving the commie a larger army. If they both buy tech together, the commie will be able to buy more, simply because his output is greater than that of a dictator's farms. Not to mention, with the tech bonus commies get, they will reach near max faster which means less $ spent on tech. Overall, this is my argument. And unless someone explains a scenario or method that proves otherwise, you'll will continue to believe that I'm not 'listening'. Insulting me with personal attacks doesn't contribute nor does further persuade me to change my mind. Maybe if I were in elementary/middle school your method would work.

Ok- I was reading through the announcements from back in 2010.

And found something nobody pointed out and I wasn't aware of.

Dictators capture more buildings than any other govt.

Dictators capture 80% buildings, whereas all other govts capture 48%. This is what I was looking for. Does it compensate- no idea- but it certainly adds a huge bonus for attacking. Especially if you're attacking a country with the same building type: ie if you're a dictator farmer you attack another farmer thus saving the turn to build those farms. Granted another govt can do that too, but with the dictator penalty being construction, this extra bonus helps a great deal.

ah well. It's your call. There's an old saying about arguing on the internet and the special olympics.

If you would like to prove us all wrong then run that CI in any server that people play. I've played a CI dozens of times. It's is by far and away my favourite strat to play, especially in Primary where it is competitive(though generally a casher is better).

But you will be stomped, and hard.

Good luck!

Prove you all wrong? I never said CI was best govt. I asked the community to explain why dictator is better. Democracy is obviously the best govt. If you have the patience and time to play with market there's really no other gov't that has a chance.

that commie has higher expenses the whole way also as to hit the same target he paying 25% more in mil expenses to achieve the same hit, and sending more results in greater # lost on each grab

In FFA they jump to 1B NW.

Here we have had 400m NW no land trading finishes. A majority of that was done in the last week of the set.

I really think you have no clue what you are talking about.

Actually Symac, I hold the highest record on Alliance for a non-land trading finish. It's 367m NW or so as a techer. It's nowhere near 400m. This was before a bunch of nerfs (increased building costs, DR half-life changes, etc) as well, so its quite literally impossible to beat this NW anymore (non-landtrading). :P

Trust me- I recognize both strats and I'm experimenting with both. In FFA I could move to 2.5 mil net which is easily #1 right now. The current #1 isn't even 1/2 that number.

In tourney I'm hovering around top 2-3 sometimes #1, and I see the price of a costly military. I get both strategies.

It's because you REALLY don't understand costs. Stocking has other benefits other than saving on upkeep costs. The people that win Alliance are the ones that are able to destock and sell down their stockpiles at the right time, while everyone else loses money on the food they bought. Reselling brings a hefty amount of profits as well.

Going back to costs, you probably aren't aware that upkeep costs aren't linear. If you have 1m turrets in a country with 10m NW, vs the same 1m turrets in a country at 20m NW, the 1m turrets cost more money every turn to maintain on the latter country. Go ahead, try stocking at 50m NW, vs someone stocking at 10m NW on Alliance. Not only do you have 10x more units to maintain, the upkeep is probably 15x more than the smaller country. Your income would probably be less than half of the former country after deducting upkeep.

Also, I don't know if you are in Tourny Game A. Because if you aren't in Game A, you are playing against bad players. (Every reset, the top half of Game B/C gets promoted into Game A, the bottom half of A gets demoted into B/C).

The fact that you can easily move to #1 on any server right now, shows exactly why no one else is attempting to do it. There is no value or economical sense for moving into the #1 spot just to be in the #1 spot. Commies naturally percolate up there in the first 2 weeks simply because of unit production by spending turns, and not because they want to be there.

Hanlong did 400 didn't he? though it was taken away. It never was disputed that it was legit. Even if not, 367 is close enough to prove the point that even I, a horrible netter, clean my jets with 2m NW.

Solid post Xin; but, if you're MB Reseller, wouldn't that be an exception to the rule?

MB Resellers don't win. In fact, it is an obsolete strat ever since the build cost formula increased in price, next to no reason to destock as one anymore.

The highest MBR full-reset record NW on Primary is by Rockman, at about 50m NW or so, that is less than half of any other strat (See stickied thread of mine on that forum for strat NW records, see stickied thread of oldman for government NW records). The highest full-set MBR on Alliance is probably about 130-140m, which isn't anywhere near the top 50 either.
