I saw in another thread you said you think Ford cars are POS. What are your thoughts about the 2014 F150? I have always been a Dodge/Chevy/GM truck guy but this time I may look at the Ford!

It's not really a trap! I am liking the new ford F150! the MPG on a truck that size is nuts.

well, im not really a fan of ANY of the new trucks. the creature comforts of the new tucks are a bit on the ridiculous side. too much fluff that can break. that said, imo the perfect truck would be a Ford body, a cummings engine, and an allison transmission. that frankenstein would be a beast. i do own a truck, it is a 1989 chevy 1500, and i pretty much only use it to tow/haul fluff.

that said, my point in the other thread was until recent years ford cars have been POSes because the demand for quality small cars never was here in the US till the hippies started caring about gas mileage and what not. Ford made its money in the US off fleet sales between the crown vic, and the F series. now ford has brought its grade A euro spec cars here to the US and small ford cars are starting to impress. Ford trucks have always been pretty good, but im still a chevy man.

the 2015 F-150 is supposed to have an aluminum body and bed. it is supposed to cut up to 700lbs from the total weight

I like my 2005 Ford F150 STX. But my dad's 2014 F150 Platinum is re-donk-ulous. When he starts it, it's like a movie plays on the dash. Personally, I've been looking for a early 80's Chevy short wide. :) (4x4 or not)

Compare it carefully against the Nissan Titan and the Toyota whatchamacallit.

Forget about the Honda Ridgeline, what good is a 4 foot bed?

Those Dodge Trucks seem to be very nice, a friend of mine bought one this last model year and it has loads of power to tote stuff, which after all, is why you buy trucks.

Cerb a 4' bed is better than no bed at all. I'm not a fan of the import trucks for some reason. Just doesn't feel right.

The Ridgeline isn't a truck. It is a minivan with a bed. It is FED or a fluff to ass AWD, and has no V8 optuon. It is not a truck, and no one who wants a truck should buy it.

My brother just bought a 2014 Toyota Tacoma. It isn't too bad actually. The oil filter is on top of the engine which blew my mind. Apparently even jeep has been doing that.

makes sense, they have had oil filter relocation kits forever, why not make it permanent. ive always been a dodge fan personally, if i have the option, i will never buy foreign, id rather give my money to us automakers instead of sending it oversea's.

As far as it goes for the Japanese building cars and trucks in America, all of them have plants here that build their larger vehicles, like the Toyota Tacoma and Nissan Titan, etc. Most of them are located in the South to avoid the massive hits they'd take on labor costs setting up in a state where the Unions have the state make it mandatory for the workers to be in a union and make 50 bucks and hour to turn a screwdriver, and they don't even have to do that anymore since the screwdrivers are now powered by either electricity or pneumatics.

But, they have created jobs here, and that is one reason I would consider buying an import, from Toyota or Nissan. As fat as motorcycles go, I would NEVER buy a Harley, they SUCK, most of them have a major engine fluff up in the first 500 miles, and they're still using technology that was in use during WWII, they don't actually want to compete with the Japanese and Korean manufacturers, if they did, they'd improve their technology rather than just lobbying the government to keep increasing the duty on import bikes over 700cc. They don't even try, so SCREW THEM!

quite a lot of cars are doing that now, and they arnt metal oil filters anymore, just a paper insert that you replace in a canister.

and toyota makes more cars in the US than any "american" car company. the economy is global now. get with the times.

Besides, the Honda Ridgeline is ugly as sin. The new dodge's (2014) are pretty beast from what I've heard.

I heard they are bringing back the Datsun badging. o.O

And when you cross the yellow line only momentary and get in the way of an auto car hauling pipe that crunching noise you here just before your head goes squish will be the aluminum can you are driving around in.
