help me out guys. i'm not a hardcore gamer. i mostly use media and play call of duty once a while

PC MASTER RACE!!!!!11!!!!oneoneone

But in all reality, theres got to be some side-by-side comparisons somewhere...

Personally, I'm opting for the Xbox One when Fallout 4 comes out (it'll be a while), this will ensure all of the bugs will be worked out. (hopefully) And I like the idea of doing picture in picture.

I've also toyed with the idea of getting a WiiU. Good old family fun, COD is still offered on it only I'm sure there'll be more 7 year olds willing to fluff your mom.

But I'm also bias about the One because I'm hoping they continue the "Fable" series.

i've read some reviews..most agree that you should only buy the xbox 1 for the exclusive titles, otherwise get the cheaper (if not better) ps4.

but yeah pc gaming master race > consoles :D

I don't want to get a PS4 because it currently has zero media center capabilities. Sony may change that, but unless you want to buy the content directly from Sony, you're just about SOL at this point. I want to use my console to stream local content.

I don't want to get a Xbox One because I don't trust Microsoft. All the DRM that they tried to roll into before launch and only rolled back because of the backlash will eventually make it's way back into the XB1.

I will wait it out for at least another year.

That said I bought a PS4 for my brother because he wanted one. He's been playing Xbox and Xbox 360 for the last 12 years, but also doesn't trust what Microsoft is going to do.

I tend to lean towards PC too... No console can beat a PC in the graphics department for sure. But taking PC out of the picture xbox one and PS4 both have upsides and are probably both fun consoles to own. The right console is going to be different for each person for different reasons.

The best recommendation is to review both of them and make your choice based on YOUR tastes and preferences. Both are great consoles neither choice is wrong.... In teh perfect world you'd have both :)

i just sold my xbox one. I purchased both systems at launch and i must say, cod ghost on ps4 ran alot smoother than xbox one.

I use my ps4 for Netflix only. The controller is awesome but there are no games I want to play.
Im still playing Diablo 3 on my ps3! My demon hunter is a boss.

Simply put, a good 8 or 10 core gaming PC is the better bet. (I've got mine being built as we speak) muhahahaha

Not really much of a gamer myself, but I have seen some serious gamer PC's around. Two video cards with 3 monitors that seriously stretch the video into a large environment for those games, huge amounts of processing power being brought to bear on the PC games.

My son seriously gets into the video gaming thing. Me, I'm old fashioned, I'd rather play the board game Risk.

I don't need anger management, people need to stop pissing me off!

Havoc, you are giving me flashbacks of trying to use my adam colecovision and it's 300 baud modem to try to connect to bbs games when I was 6-7 years old, haha. I think in the early days of earth when it was on a bbs ( i think it started on a bbs anyhow?), your colecovision would have worked rather reasonably.

As to the initial question, definitely pc. =P

If you are set on a console though, and are primarily going to be using it for media and occasionally COD, xb1 is probably the way to go. I personally prefer the ps4 for a variety of reasons, but it sucks as a home media centre compared to the xb1.

You need to be rescued.... Board games have come so much farther...

Settlers of Catan (with or without Cities & Knights)
Carcassonne
Dominion (more cards than board but still...)

We just recently got and played Caylus, loved it.

And for a "modern" Risk, try Warlight online. Free, dynamic boards, multi-player or single-player, etc.

Usually I would say PS4. But that was before I found out Titanfall was only on Xbone. Ex Infinity ward guys tend to make a bad ass game. (MW2)

But I'm waiting for a awhile. Neither console has fluff on it and I hate Ghosts. Thinking about joining the PC master race again, and playing games like Eve.

Xbox and PS4 are basicly down to preference at this point.

The competitive scene is in xbox's hands.

Game titles is also in Xbox's hands.

System might actually be in PS4's hands.
